Re: Tire question

The problem with feathering is if it continues to get worse you will start to get alot of tire noise.

Mine was out from day 1. The centering of the steering wheel was off to the right. Had to have an alignment done on a Hunter Hawkeye Elite rack to get it correct. The alignment that is done at the factory just gets the adjustments close to the proper specs.

Re: Tire question

An quick and easy way to check your inflation is to chalk the tires. To save myself some typing and also because it will give you pictures to reference search for "chalking tires to check inflation" and you will find many pages explaining the process. You'll want the bright stuff they make for kids to write on pavement as it makes it easier to see.

Re: Tire question

If after playing with the tire pressure the car pulls left or right when driving, have the alignment checked. I have a 2012 limited, after picking it up and driving for 200 miles had to have 4 wheel alignment done. When the strap the cars down on delivery the over tighten the and that can cause the alignment to go out.

Re: Tire question

My Jeep rides beautifully, but I just noticed this the other day, and I've got less than 700 miles.

Re: Tire question

Bring it back to the dealer and tell them that was the way you picked it up and have them check and re-align. You should be able to get a print out of the current alignment condition before and what it is after they they do the re-alignment if it is a computerized align.

Re: Tire question

Why are you guys running higher than recommended PSI?
I'm curious what the sticker says your tires should be inflated to from the factory. Mine says 33 for all fours tires and I think the spare is like 38 psi.

Re: Tire question

33 psi was too soft for me. I set it to 36 psi and it rides much better. I think most are doing for the same reason.

Cheers,

Re: Tire question

Go and get an alignment!!!! The factory doesnt do an alignment and dealers wont do it either, Ive seen alot of early tire wear bc of misalignment from factory. It needs to be done..... Check out Firestone they offer lifetime alignment package last one I bought was $149.99 a few years ago its a great deal if you plan on keeping if for a while and you can get it done anytime for free on that car at any location nationwide.

Only $1000? Try springing for tires and wheels... even with a tad of help from the Discount Tire guy here I'd kill for only $1000.

Oh well... such is the price of toys.

Re: Tire question

The outside of my front tires are almost bald. This is on an '11 WK2 with 20000 miles. I swung by Discount Tire today and ended up purchasing 4 new tires. He said I definitely need an alignment but it was normal wear.

I'm talking just tires, I've never put aftermarket rims on a vehicle.
