The 20" Foteras are not that expensive, I paid $156.77 per tire from a Good Year tire store in my city. You're right it's insurance and I hope I never use it.

If they will replace the wheel due to curb rash, thats not a bad deal.

Many tire shops do offer road hazard for a lot less money.
Canadian prices my friend. Quick look online dealers and those who have the Forteras have it average $325, And that's why I bought the package.

It all depends on your needs. The warranty only covers the OEM tires as far as I know. So if you're planning on changing them then there is no point. If the hires are available locally at a descent price it might not be worth it much like many here have said.

For me it was about the peace on mind. Lots of construction going on here, so I'd rather drop it off and have it replaced.

They'll probably repair and repaint it, at a cost of about $150.

Or even less. I had a curb rash on the Lexus repaired for $30.

Got an invoice for $375 for the tire, which had to be ordered in. And the tire package covered the whole thing, did not pay a cent.
I'm happy I got it.
That is ridiculous!! That will easily buy two of those crappy Forteras and lunch! I had those tires on my work truck and they were junk at 40,000. Tire Rack is an excellent price reference for tires just remember they charge quite a bit to ship so factor some of the shipping in to the price at a store. That "technician" is a donkey.

$186.50 shipped to Toronto tirerack.com. You got hosed ay. I apologize I did not convert, it would be $192.64 CAD.

Re: Tire/wheel protection package

I bought a plan at time of purchase, 5yr. $301.00 ($1 over cost). Caught a large screw in the shoulder soon after. Plan covered the entire cost of a new tire: $331. Ask to see the contract first so you can see what's covered and what's required of you.
