the front i tapped off with masking tape and painted it while still on the hood... i definitely recommend the method i used above there, it requires far less intricacy and patience.... here are some pictures of that attached.
This method is much easier, with plasti dip.. Heres a few pics of my buddys g37 we did the emblems black.

As I understand it from reading other threads, debadging is easy and the paint underneath should be just fine....

Any thoughts???

Why would I do this at all, I mean what is the point of debadging? Performance? Look? What?

Re: To debadge the hood or not to debadge, that is the question.

^^^ I've had 5-6 new GC's (continuously owned since they came out in 1993 model year...bought in fall 1992) and 1 new Wrangler. So, around $250K new Jeeps....I like them a lot....BUT might look better without the front badge on this one since with the Summit there is some extra chrome already.... Plus the 1-2 better MPG... LOL

Re: To debadge the hood or not to debadge, that is the question.

The tailgate looks much better without the badging, and the Jeep logo remains in the chrome trim bar. As for the hood logo, that's personal preference, but I'd leave it on there.
