Mine should be flapped by now. Keeps the muck from flying.

Re: To flap or not to flap....that is the question

I've never found mud or splash guards that can survive my use of the vehicle (off road a lot). Plus in winter they can cause ice/slush to build up behind the front wheels to the point where the buildup can affect steering (say after a long drive on a highway without large steering movements). So I don't use 'em. For stone protection, I have had clear film (like clear bra) put on the rocker panels on one vehicle.

No pictures. First Jeep GC that I had with them (other 3 GC's did not). Got 4 of them at delivery. Helps keep mud, road crud & salt off and protect the GC Limited's lower body work here in mid-Michigan.

Looks don't bother me, since I ride on the inside ( ) and tend to be more functionally-oriented. Then again, I also think English Bulldogs are cute. It's a design criteria that jeeps be somewhat homely. Mudflaps just help. Couldn't find those chrome sitting girls (smaller size) to mount, like the long-haul truckers have on their 18-wheelers.

Re: To flap or not to flap....that is the question

I live and travel in northern New England. The flaps on my 96 are still functioning perfectly. And I drive plenty of miles off road as well as highway. Just takes a little TLC at the correct time.
