Just got home moments ago from the dealer and took delivery of our 2014 Overland. This vehicle is just amazing and the dealer made it such an awesome experience. They were even able to get me a better financing rate than my own bank, but they checked and didn't have me in the system to get the $500-$1000 incentive going out in the mail. The only issue was the shifter wasn't correctly put on and the top piece doesn't line up with the bottom shaft. Dealer pointed it out right away and promised to fix it, but it's odd this was missed in the inspection process during manufacturing. I'll get some pictures tomorrow and post, but so far my wife and I both love it!!!

Too much excitement for me to sleep and I'm ready to take it for another drive. I snapped a picture of the front end as well as the messed up shifter piece.

Seems to me, Quality Control needs some new inspectors because they obviously are missing a lot of things. I have more things wrong on my 2014 Summit than my 2012 Overland, and I thought they were really looking to get the 2014 correct. Not.

It will be a week tomorrow that I took delivery and I am going back to the dealer in the am to hopefully address a couple things. I never had to go back with the 2012.

But hopefully the dealer will do everything correctly and I won't have to return.

Good point. Someone we know and love looked over my Jeep just before it left the plant. He confirmed that the paint damage that mine arrived with was not present at that time.

Thanks, I'm thinking as well that it might have gotten damaged in transport. Maybe when they were loading and unloading, the person tried to shift without engaging the brakes first and caused this. Either way, the dealer discovered and pointed it out to me and put their best tech on it to make sure it was operating correctly and if they could fix it. They decided they will order the replacement part and will call me to bring in the Jeep to fix it. The only thing that wasn't up to my expectation was the guy who washed it. I saw the car in a thick layer of dirt/dust from being transported, but after the wash, it still had dirt/dust that was very noticeable like it hadn't been washed. The sales manager apologized, but I plan to detail it myself anyways, so it's clean enough till I get to it.
