Tough time waiting for my Overland

How many of you are dieing to get your Overland, and check this forum every few hours in hopes of hearing some good news? I ordered mine the end of September, and my dealer said call back in 3 weeks for a VIN. When I got home from the dealer I came here to read about Overlands being on restriction =(

My guess is in three weeks they won't have anything for me.

Hopefully Jeep is stepping up production. I really want to be one of the first people with an Overland in the NY area and so far it looks like that might be the case, granted I might not even get it until the end of the year

I'm in the same spot, Bozer. I ordered 10/1. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas -- I want to call the dealer every hour for an update

Re: Tough time waiting for my Overland

The Pope had become very ill and was taken to many doctors who were all quite skilled in the latest medical techniques. None of them could figure out how to cure him, or even what ailed him. Finally, a wise old doc was brought in. After an hour, he came out with the bad news that the Pope had a difficult disorder of the testicles -- terminal blue balls.

He said that the good news was that all the Pope had to do to be cured was to have sex a few times. Well, of course this was not good news to the cardinals, who argued about it at length. Finally they went to the Pope himself with the doc and explained the situation. After some thought, the Pope stated, "I reluctantly agree, but only under four very strict conditions."

The cardinals were amazed and there arose quite and uproar. Over all of the noise there came a single voice that asked, "And what are the four conditions?" The room immediately stilled.

The Pope replied, "First she must be blind, so that she cannot see with whom she is having sex. Second, she must be deaf, so that she cannot hear with whom she is having sex. And third, she must be mute so that if she somehow figures it all out, she can tell no one."

After another long pause, a voice finally asked, "And the fourth condition?"
The Pope replied, "Big t!ts!"

Re: Tough time waiting for my Overland

I ordered an Overland V-6 with the off road adventure package on Sept 13. The dealer estimated around 8 weeks. I called last Monday (three weeks) and was told that it was in "D" status and looked to be on schedule. A VIN had been assigned but I didn't ask for it. I will on my next call. My guess is it will be 8-10 weeks.

Re: Tough time waiting for my Overland

I ordered on June 21st. Built on August 24th.

Now, just sitting there in storage.

When I called Chrysler this week with my VIN, the rep said, "the expected ship date has long since passed."

Thanks, I know.

So, the answer to the "check here every hour" question is a painful yes.

Re: Tough time waiting for my Overland

I believe what you are saying but, why do they let a live buyer hang in the wind? Why would a jeep be in storage for that long and at the same time others are getting theirs in 8 weeks? I'd be asking a lot of questions. That must be frustrating. I can only hope that my September order goes faster. My dealer said that they expedite it when they know they have a buyer on the other end.

Re: Tough time waiting for my Overland

I cant wait for mine either. It looks like my luck is a little better than some, I ordered at the end of September and My delivery date is 10/20. They told me 6-8 week like everyone else but looks like it will get delivered inside of 4 weeks.

Re: Tough time waiting for my Overland

Ordered 9/17 Overland, 5.7, tech pkg., d/l beige. I was told yesterday D1 and VIN mid Nov. Chrysler Info.800 line. Called dealer he checked with district rep.....first week of Nov. scheduled to be built possible delivery by end of Nov. I am not going to hold my breath. Dealer told me when I ordered 4 to 6 weeks. To much confusion at Chrysler for New GC, poor planning, ran out of 730N media centers, advertised Sirius Traffic and Travel Link....did not produce. They better get their S%@# together soon or they are going to have some disgruntled buyers for a very good vehicle.
