You have to get a 7 slot grill for the trailer. Then they would really match.

Re: Towing thread

The two numbers to be concerned about are the combined vehicle weight and the weight loaded on your Jeep. The cargo carrying capability of the Jeep assumes a 150 lb. driver and no passengers. Add the weight of your family and gear stored inside along with the tongue weight of the trailer to see if it's too much or not.

With any vehicle, don't expect to blast up a a long steep incline at 70 MPH.

No source really says how much I can tow figuring the trailer weight plus the stuff I put in or on it. 75% of 7400 max would be about 5500 lbs total of trailer and load on trailer. I'm figuring I got about 300 lbs of people and/or equipment inside the vehicle. The pics are helpful but anyone know the total trailer weight they are actually towing in these or what my limit should be for a 800 mi. trip?? Thanks

Good to go here with 6k lb load up and over 11k' elevation.

Re: Towing thread

This is what I will be towing with the SRT pretty soon. I don't know what the tongue weight is but it's heavy, probably about 500#. Total weight is only about 2,200# plus a couple hundred more for wood and supplies. I do wish it had brakes though, I had to put the Brembos on the SS to the test at 80 MPH one day . The SS has been pulling it around for about five years with no problems though.

Re: Towing thread

today first time i get pop-up camper, weigh 3420lbs gvwr,, from dealer, and put on class 2 hitch, noticed my jeep dropped down to few inches. so after pull out not a problem, i followwed owners manual for towing. I serviced front/rear gear box, transmission, with valvoline synthenic. (gearbox 75w140) (trans synthenic ATF+4) run drives good. do i require doing replacae spark plugs ? dealer says at 60k need change? i thought they are 100k?????????

You're pulling a 3200lb camper on a class2 hitch ? Time for an upgrade class2 is only rated to 2000 lbs. You need at least a class 3.

I had no concerns about the Jeep just the hitch... 1 1/4" class 2 hitch on my Dakota was stamped class 2 200/2000. Happy camping !
