Re: Towing thread

You are a braver person than me! (I do have a number of horse friends in your country, BTW, also up and down the eastern coast)

Probably more stupid than brave. What shows do your friends travel the east coast for?

Re: Towing thread

I honestly don't know the details about where they show. Most don't travel very far, although one friend's daughter showing regularly near wherever the barn operation she's working for, somewhere in QLD, I believe. Another friend shows locally in the Townsville area.

So I rented a 5x9 trailer from Uhaul today. My first experience towing with my truck. It got the job done as expected. Should I have done anything special for the job though?

Re: Towing thread

torifile, as long as you always inspect everything before hauling (lights, brakes if that applies, tire inflation, safety chains, etc.) you're good to go. If you're new to towing, take the time to "play" in a parking lot somewhere so you get used to the corner boundaries of your combined vehicle and trailer for turning, parking and backing up.

Re: Towing thread

After I get my JGC, I plan on getting a boat. Maybe something like this, though it's a little big.

Keep watching after the Jeep pulls away though, the rest is awesome!

Just another fine example of what makes us Americans the finest collection of humans the world has ever seen.
