I'm looking to tow a 22 foot boat. Thanks!

I tow a 22' Regal boat - I use an adjustable hitch which is set to 4.5" drop.

That's purely dependent on your particular trailer and the required ball height so that the trailer is level or very slightly nose high on the ball. Both of my trailers are "right there" with a 4" drop, but each trailer can be a little different. It's a matter of measuring up from the ground with the trailer parked on a level place on the jack and oriented as mentioned. You can then take that number and figure out what your drop needs to be at the back of the JGC to duplicate that ball height.

How does it do towing your boat? I've been contemplating towing our 225 FourWinns and selling my duramax.

Re: Towing thread

My son's GJ had transmission shift troubles, so he used our GJ EcoDiesel to pull his PopUp to our family reunion on the 3rd of Jul. Said our jeep didn't even seem to have the trailer behind it pulling up to 8000 ft ASL. We had 179 stay over on the 3rd. We were in our 5th wheel among other and many were in tents.

Saw 2 EcoDiesels at the dealer yesterday, neither had a hitch. Pointless.

Weight is estimated at 5500 but haven't gone to a scale yet. Tows fine on a short trip so far. Tomorrow heading to Northwoods JJ about 220 miles away & that will be the biggest test so far.

Re: Towing thread

Just did a 2000 mile round trip from Utah to Mt. Rushmore. My EcoDiesel did great. Just averaged over 13.2 for the entire trip.

Re: Towing thread

Not mine, but I'm a fan of Moby1 expedition trailers, so here's a couple of pics of a WK2 towing one. Plenty more on their Facebook page.
