You will always get some rear drop with the trailer. The one I tested was a QL system but tell us a little about your trailer so we can answer the question better. What is the Tongue weight and dry vs loaded weights? If it is a camper, what is the make and model?

Not necessarily with a load leveling hitch. You have control over where the that tongue weight goes between front and back.

mswlogo, Willx is our local expert on WDH! But even with one, "initially" there will be a little sag at the vehicle until either the QL or leveling shocks deal with it. In a long description he has here in another thread, he describes the exact behavior of hitching up a rather, um...large...trailer using a WDH with QL and how it magically adjusts after it moves forward just a bit.

^^^ dead on.

If you read the manuals on the WD systems it will tell you there will still be some difference front to back. Over adjusting on a short wheelbase vehicle can also create some not fantastic results.

Re: Towing with your GC - Specific 2014 Capacity Question as well.

I've tow this rig with load leveling probably 5000 lbs with my old 2002 4.0L

And this, without load leveling. 4500 lbs, way more than an I/O
Sure wish it had Tandom Wheels, it's probably not legal for the weight.
But I only tow it 100 ft twice a year

This is a real boat

Re: Towing with your GC - Specific 2014 Capacity Question as well.

I do not have the Quad lift and I have no problem setting up the weight distribution hitch except that it is a pain having to use the trailer jack to lift up the tongue and back of the Jeep to get the bars on the skid plates (no chains). My question is what is the "Load Leveling" that comes with the Tow Package? I see no automatic leveling of the Jeep when I place the tongue load (about 400 lbs.) on the hitch; with or without the Jeep running it drops about 2.5 inches and the front comes up slightly. The only leveling that happens is when I set the load levers on the load leveling hitch. I had assumed there would be some sort of air or hydraulic system to raise the back end. Let me say thanks to all for the help I am getting on this forum.

It has been my experience with the load leveling on the Durango which I currently am driving that if you drive it around for a mile or two and re measure the gaps it has taken up some of the load... Really this is to keep the rear suspension from bottoming out (my Mercedes did this because it did not have load leveling. Personally they should call it load compensation because it corrects the loading of the rear shocks to handle the weight, it is not really to "level" the vehicle... Poor choice of marketing words I guess.

The BX-2x is about 2900 lbs with both the FEL and the BH (I own a BX-22) so that plus the weight of your trailer is the load. It's certainly not unreasonable for towing with your JGC!

Re: Towing with your GC - Specific 2014 Capacity Question as well.

Hey guys I was looking into getting a ultra light TT but I'm not sure my 2012 v6 gc can pull it ? The TTs I was looking at all have a gvwr of 3500-4klbs. Will I be okay ? I just have a basic 4x4 laredo.

You are well within the V6 towing range if the GVWR of the trailer is 4000 or under.

WillX - thank you for chiming in as I was hoping you would ! .. how much payload would I have left to play with ? I think for tongue weight its .12 or .13 times the gvwr of the TT and it will gimmie my tongue weight right? So .12 x 4k = 480lb tongue weight . How much would I have leftover for weight of people in my car or gear.

I believe you still have lots of room I would need to check the specifications and I won't be able to do that a little bit later but somebody might get back to you before I do....
