Re: Trade 2012 for 2014? Who is going this route?

I am keeping my 2012. The new added features do not justify me trading in, and starting over with payments from the beginning again after paying for 2+ years. I like my 2012 altitude, and chances are there won't be an Altitude model in 2014. I can always add the features(like the LED tails) if they are interchangeable.

*Trading* will order a 14 summit in diesel. I have a 2011 overland v6- nothing wrong with it.. just hit 7k miles =) but want the new nav, new diesel, new look, folding power mirrors.. etc etc

I did consider the range rover evoque. (haven't seen one in person yet, but suspect it's more tiquan in size)

Yeah, the evoque is much smaller than the GC. Actually not as cool looking in person as I thought it might be. Almost looks a bit "cheesy". I'd rather buy at the top of one line (Jeep GC), than the bottom of another (Range Rover). JMHO.

Re: Trade 2012 for 2014? Who is going this route?

Thinking about it.

Just ran the numbers on KBB and (if the dealer goes along) my current OVL is worth now what I paid for it. My loan pay-off is $10K less than that. I bought the 2WD version, as I had no intention of off-roading. However, you guys have given me the bug. I live an hour from the Oregon coast, and dune/sand driving sounds fun! Plus, I like gadgets (one of the reasons I chose this vehicle). I want the 8" screen. I want integrated bluetooth messaging to be functional (MyGig appears to be an abandoned platform). I want power-folding mirrors.

Color me interested....

Slightly different take on this one but I'm in the market for one, have a 2011 liberty to trade in. I'm waiting because I want the diesel. Having read about the differences between 13's &14's, I can say with certainty that if I was planning to get the v6 or hemi, I would not wait. The 8 Spd will be nice, but I couldn't imagine trading or waiting only for that.

Yeah but there are a lot more differences than just the 8spd. Plus thè 2014's really aren't all that far off. If I were in the market right and knew what was coming for 2014 I would be holding off without a doubt.

Leased mine for for 2.5 years with the intent to grab the SRT again.

The Evoque is a lot smaller, but hugely sexy. If you're looking at stuff that's only a little smaller, the new LR2 has the same drivetrain as the Evoque, with an upgraded interior for 2013. I suspect that will be a great vehicle, it will finally have the luxury goods to go with its intentions.

Personally I feel like it's more likely I'd get into something like a next-gen Liberty Overland. Rumors are it's going to be just as nice as the GC, except it will be lighter, more fuel efficient, and slightly smaller. It likely will also be almost as capable and offer the diesel as well.

I think it's probable I'd pick up a used '14 SRT once prices on them have fallen.
