One (for me) HUGE question: Does Land Rover even offer a Lifetime Warranty?

Re: Trade 2012 for 2014? Who is going this route?

I love my 12' Wk2, but i think with all the improvements, i might trade up to a black on black 2014 limited 4x4 with pano roof and off road package. As soon as the order banks open i may place an order if the numbers are right.

I would like the 8spd tranny but probably won't trade. My 11 isn't paid off until 15 anyway. And I should direct extra funds to pay down my mortgage since its seriously under water, but that's a different forum altogether.

Re: Trade 2012 for 2014? Who is going this route?

Well the wife is really pushing me to trade for a 2014 if the MPG is even 10% better.

This is what sells new vehicles, improvements and enticing us to trade up for more features. This is where you take a shit kicking on your trade for $300-$400 savings a year on fuel (depending your distance). Drive on folks, and enjoy what you got!

hopefully there will be no bugs I will be waiting to see how the diesel works out with 8spd

I'm sure that some company would sell you one. Personally, I don't feel like the smaller vehicles out there are designed for 15+ years lifespans anymore.

I understand the fuel saving will be negligible but at the same time the wife would like to see a little better MPG as we use the Jeep almost exclusively for long trips as it is much quieter, smoother, and more comfortable than her Pontiac G6. If the 8speed tranny makes a good improvement on economy and the trade in value is right I will more than likely trade and enjoy my second Jeep. If the numbers do not allow it I will be more than happy to continue driving my 2012 as I have a habit of telling the wife, "I love my Jeep".

I have a 2010 jgc that I pretty much stole from the dealership as it was a model year close out (laredo with tow pkg and nav for $5500 under invoice). I have a small business so my vehicle payment is a write-off with depreciation. I also drive a ton of miles per year so it will benefit me to get a 2014 diesel with the 8 speed as it'll save me about $1000/year in fuel. Better performance (my 2010 is pretty lame), better look, better fuel economy, better towing and power, better technology, and even slightly larger cargo capacity! In addition, I will be due for new tires next spring so I'd need to spend $700 anyways so I might as well get'em on the new ride (not the stock tires cuz they suck, I'll get the dealer to get me good tires).

Re: Trade 2012 for 2014? Who is going this route?

If something special is offered to Pentastar owners on a '14 diesel (if ever released) I might consider one.

The diesel is another option I will be considering.

Re: Trade 2012 for 2014? Who is going this route?

Ok well at this point the 2014 just doesn't have enough wow factor to make me trade. Now I am not saying it is not an improvement, it does't have enough to make me trade. I was doing the numbers and 2 MPG for the 8 speed is indeed a 10% increase but other than that the new GC just doesn't trip my "BUY ME" trigger.
