The 15 is quieter, have you driven one? They've added active noise canceling and made some changes to the glass on the 15. I drove the 15 SRT8 now that was louder due to the exhaust.

Dude, I typically don't talk *** to people on forums, but you are annoying as *** lol! Each and every single post you make on this forum is pretty much useless, doesn't help the thread in anyway whatsoever, and is usually derogatory towards to the OP.
First off its his opinion, and secondly I think you aren't understanding his point. He is more or less talking about interior cabin noise. Things such as wind noise, road noise etc etc. As far as the engines go well obviously the Hemi is going to be throatier sounding. As far as actual loudness from the engine itself and the exhaust, the amount of cylinders has no effect on that. Have you ever heard how loud and shitty sounding some 4 cylinders are? Thats one reason I don't own a 4cyl because they just sound all around terrible inside and outside the car. Only way I can describe some of them is cheap and rackety sounding. Now I know not all 4cylinders are like that, but some of the cheaper vehicles out there are.
Now im by no means suggesting the Pentastar is like that, but I was just using that as an example. The Pentastar may very well be a noisier engine. I have owned both and I do remember hearing lots of noise when driving along walls. And as far as exhaust goes no the Hemi is not much louder.
Again, what exactly do you own?

Just curious.
I cant answer for the OP, but remember 2016 is a mild refresh. Probably very little if anything at all on the outside, and sounds like minimal things on the inside. If it was going to be as big of a change that the 2014 was to the '11-13's then yeah I would have questioned that decision ;-)

Didn't see any upgrades or changes apart from some uconnect changes that warranted the wait.
Had the V6 for two years, did two winters in Canada and I decided I wanted a new car. Didn't have to think twice what it would be as I have been super impressed with the Jeep.

I've drove both the 14 and 15 pentsar and hemi on several occasions.

To say the exhaust and number of cylinders have no affect on noise is a special thought process I don't think I can comprehended.

The Hemi is louder than the v6 in every aspect of driving... From idle to hard acceleration. The engine and exhaust notes are much more prominent.

As for your attack against me yes I am smart ass, but for good reason too much misinformation is propagated on this forum daily.
JTS made valid points and has asked you a legit question. I think some of the others would like to know as well. It's one thing to have "driven something on several occasions," quite another to actually own it. So yes, it would help others to know exactly what you're basing your replies on.

Speaking of sound, I thought the 2016s will have better sound isolation/dampening.

If you go from no Acoustic Glass and No Active Cancelation V6 to Acoustic Glass and Active Cancelation V8 it's a lot of variables.

I don't think anyone would argue the V8 Engine itself is louder. But he's saying the more noise Controlled Cabin made the V8 quieter than his less noise controlled V6.

He's also talking about INSIDE the cabin. Outside is probably a different story.

That's what I thought too.. I was asking about like road noise. And that's what OP responded to. All these hemi fanboys are freaking out thinking he's saying the Hemi is quieter. Stop torching the OP. Dang.

I have to check out the road noise, and as most of you rightly say I'm talking about the noise levels inside a Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L V8 Hemi SUMMIT, with Active Noise Cancellation and Acoustic Glass, something the V6 did not have.

Disclaimer:
IMHO

Anyway I'm pleased with the choice I made and it is a very nice car, was just trying to share my joy.......

What are you talking about? Did you not read my post? I actually responded first to the guy saying the Hemi might infact be more quiet than the V6. What other fan boy freaked out about noise differences between the two engines?
