I've always had halogens so I guess I don't know what I'm missing but if they are that much better it may help sway my thinking toward the LUX II package.
QL gives a very nice ride and the various modes will help with just about any terrain/weather conditions you'll encounter.

HID's are the way to go, period. I think the light output on low beam is better than a lot of halogen high beams I've had.

Try $1205 more, plus the additional maintenance expenses.

Re: Trailhawk or Limited?

I went with a '14 Limited (bought new Nov '13) with the diesel, luxury 2, off road 2. Couldn't be happen with the combination. It's the classic 'lady in the streets, freak in the woods'

Just threw some rock rails on it (dealer installed Mopar)ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1474113334.696402.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1474113347.934402.jpg

And it's ready to play

I like those rock rails. Do they serve any secondary purpose in aiding ingress/egress of little ones and old ladies?

Re: Trailhawk or Limited?

It's my wife's 36th birthday today so I'll have her answer the old lady part later :-)

My 3 year and 5 year old boys do step on them climbing in, so yes, works for them. I may add some non-skid of some kind before winter though, I could see them getting slick.

I added them because at the last Jeep Jam I took it too I was stressing out about denting in my door sills after seeing a couple JK's get high centered on their rails. I didn't have any issues but added them since I'm going to the JJUSA Gateway To The Cumberlands (biggest Jeep Jamboree in the country) next month.

I feel your pain. I was torn between options on a LUX II Limited, Overland, and a high altitude back at the end of July. Ended up with a 75th Limited with LUX II and ORA II. Has everything I wanted (QL and bi-xenons with the LED fogs) and much more. I have a 2 year old and the QL rocks for getting him and out of the car seat! Nice ride too.

Do yourself a favor. Search on here for Koons group buy and contact Craig. He could save you thousands and what he can save you could very well put you into the Limited LUX II ORA II for less than you'd pay locally for what you almost want. Contacting him will cost you nothing, could save you a grand or two, maybe more. I see where you're located and I know others have travelled much further to buy from him (Northern VA, near DC)
Actually, here's the link:
http://www.jeepgarage.org/f230/2016-...buy-93950.html
They're a JeepGarage sponsor and I have nothing to do with them. Just want to increase the odds of you getting what you want. Absolutely mention JeepGarage if you email him.

Re: Trailhawk or Limited?

HID's all the way. My '14 Limited had the regular lights and I changed them out for Osram Night Breaker bulbs - made a world of difference. My '16 has HID's, huge improvement over those. I also have QL. Not much off roading, but the wife likes being able to lower it down to get the kiddo in the car seat. I have a 75th Anniversary Limited with the 5.7 and ORA-II, giving me the ELSD and QL. Depending on your budget, you can try configuring a 2017 that way.

Thanks for all of the replies. I've been going back and forth with Craig from Koons on a couple of different models, I definitely want the Lux 2 after all of this discussion but I'm going to see what the numbers look like with combination of both. I'll give you all an update soon.

Trailhawk or Limited?

That's great news - glad Craig is taking care of you and that you were open to the idea.

As far as the LED's go, (presuming you mean the fogs and not the headlight accent lights) let me just say that on more than 1 occasion, I have driven a couple of miles at night before realizing my headlights weren't on. They are THAT good.

I'd be crazy to at least not see what he can do. With that said has anyone had any experience doing a factory order through Koons, or for that matter doing a factory order in general? How long does that process take from start to delivery and what lease rate would I be subject to, the rates on the date I ordered or the day I take delivery?

I didn't know you could turn the fog lights on without the head lights.
