Re: Train Horn

Wanted to put one on my wife's Mini Cooper as a safety feature when people try to come over on you in the next lane, but she said "No!"

Re: Train Horn

I watched some of the video showing this guy and his buddies driving around and blasting the horn at unsuspecting pedestrians. After the first minute of the (10 min) video, all I could think was, "what a rude effing idiot". Getting his jollies at the expense of others. People who blast their horns or make loud noises for no better reason than that are insecure and inconsiderate IMO.

Put in a loud horn, warn your friends of what you are about to do, and enjoy showing off. But don't blast it at strangers who have done nothing to deserve it.

People who laugh and giggle when they intentionally hurt other people are called 'bullies'.

Re: Train Horn

Decidedly illegal in Florida. And FWIW I think these are utterly stupid. I can understand wanting people to notice you but imagine someone driving around and you hitting this horn and distract them causing a major accident. You could easily be charged with vehicular manslaughter as one could deem your actions reckless.

In all honesty, put one on and have fun. Hit it at sporting events after a big game. That's my main purpose.

Like I said, I'd follow that douche bag home for blowing that horn at me. He needs and deserves to be physically beaten for doing that. I know that I now sound no better than the bully in the video, but, is it bullying when you do it to the bully?

Maybe someone could pull their train horn equipped vehicle within an inch of the front of this guys mobile home at about 3am and lay on the horn until people came running out the front door. Now THAT would be funny....

What an inconsiderate jack ass.

Be careful following people home and making semi-threatening moves towards their house. Some people are crazy & stupid. In Texas most everybody has a gun and a lot of people are stupid enough to use it. Don't get shot

It'd almost be worth it.

Re: Train Horn

A train horn can be anywhere between 130 and 150 decibels. At that level permanent hearing damage can be almost instantaneous. Anyone blowing one off in a public area near people is just a jackass looking for a lawsuit.

Totally agree. Anyone doing that seriously needs to be removed from the gene pool.

Re: Train Horn

To the people wanting to install these things and blast them at pedestrians, etc:

It's time to become grown ups guys. The Jeep is not a toy, and the horn is safety equipment, not something to "blow after games and have fun". You can hit this stupid train horn when someone drifts into your lane and startle someone to the point where you cause an accident. How would you feel then?

We all have to share the roads, and if you're immature enough to do BS like this...you shouldn't be allowed to operate a motor vehicle on a public road IMHO.
