You like to name call on the Internet huh? Me saying what I said doesn't make me a pussy, that statement comes from you and your inability to craft a better response. Instead of coming correct, you resort to simple 5 letter words to express your anger. What I said might make me a person who has a bad temper or a person with poor self control, but not a pussy. To call me what you did based on what I said doesn't make sense. Think your trash talk through and try a little harder. Your first two attempts are amateurish and not based in reality.

I've met 2 guys named joe in my life. Both were 5"4 and 140 lbs. I'm guessing you're in that neighborhood too. One was balding terribly and had a severe inferiority complex. I'd bet I'm hitting pretty close to home on all fronts.

Have a great day joe!
My dogs name is, Joe. That may break the mold a little bit.

Re: Train Horn

LOL... a few years ago, if I had encountered or received a complaint of anyone stupid enough to mount and use a train horn on their vehicle, I know exactly what I would've done.

I would've pulled him over, and with a big smile on my face handed him an expensive DCMV citation along with a vehicle equipment violation repair order that would give him 5 days to show proof that he had removed the horn from his vehicle.

Since I retired I no longer can do that but I can still do the next best thing... get a plate number and/or vehicle description and call in a complaint. The end result will be the same.

Re: Train Horn

I have an exhaust whistle with 5 tuned brass tubes on one of my Model A's . I also live on a rural road that bicyclists love to use for group rides and could care less about "sharing the road". Use your imagination!

This.
The PA based electronic air horn is something I've always thought about doing, but on a separate button.
Something to catch the attention of the moron on his/her cell phone wandering over into my lane.

Although...
I've been told the OEM Jeep horns are nothing to sneeze at. I usually can't tell from inside with the music playing though.

Re: Train Horn

Just throwing this out there for the people that think nobody could get hurt by this. A few years back I was behind a car full of kids with one of these horns, it was the first weekend back for the college so everyone was out. The car with the horn pulled up behind a girl walking on the curb who was a little intoxicated. He blew the horn and she was so frightened that she fell into the street almost getting hit by the car blowing the horn. I have no idea how she didn't get hit by the car, needless to say I stopped the guy and arrested him. He fought it in court and lost due to my dash cam showing her almost getting hit by his car. Just throwing that out there, its highly possible that people can get hurt in more ways than just hearing damage.

It's time to become grown ups guys. The Jeep is not a toy, and the horn is safety equipment, not something to "blow after games and have fun". You can hit this stupid train horn when someone drifts into your lane and startle someone to the point where you cause an accident. How would you feel then?

We all have to share the roads, and if you're immature enough to do BS like this...you shouldn't be allowed to operate a motor vehicle on a public road IMHO.
This.

While the horn blasting people walking by is a stupid thing to do, no one is dying over it. Using it in traffic isn't going yo kill anyone either.
People get pushed over the edge by anything. I agree it may never reached to that extent but you can never be sure. Some people are packing...you pull this and he reaches a point, you never know what is going to happen. There was 1 youtube vid of these pranks..the pranksters were followed and started to film it. At a light both vehicles stopped and the guy confronted the pranksters..that's where the vid cuts off.

If you want to insinuate someone is stupid, watch that moron in the YouTube video blowing a train horn at people for fun. To me that is the epitome of stupid.

To make the assumption that using a train horn while at highway speed would never cause an accident or loss of life is the dumbest yet.
Amen

Amen and well said!

These idiots who think this is funny really do not deserve the right to drive a vehicle on a public road. What these people are doing is very dangerous. You can damage someones hearing or maybe even give them a heart attack. Yes, you could kill them. There is nothing funny about that. And you don't know what kind of day a person is already having before you alarm them with something like this. You could very well get hurt badly. Do it to the wrong person and they might just follow you home, damage your car, your health or even shoot you. Road rage is a very dangerous and real thing. I know that if someone scared me with one of these, they would definitely not be getting away with it.

Using this horn in a manner where it isn't meant to scare people, well that is a different story and I am ok with that.

I charged him with Malicious or unlawful assault; which carries jail time of not more than 6 months or a fine of not more than $100, or both.
