Re: Train Horn Install - Anyone??

Well....for me it is the best place, since my engine has 6 cylinders there is more than enough room for it, its well kept, covered, not visible, doesnt touch or bumps into anything, its like it was factory installed/designed.
More than one year installed, gone thru long trips, fast and slow, offroading quite a lot (check my other posts)...and the horn still running as good as new..and the best part is that from the outside or beneath you cant imagine its there..until you hear it.

Re: Train Horn Install - Anyone??

Yeah no doubt will it work there, I simply would have rather mounted it under the rear of the vehicle near the rear sway bar, etc. That is just personal preference.

Reason being - its tucked up out of the way and you could "T" it off there and have a hose connection in the back for filling tires, etc

That's just me though

That is my plan. There is a lot of room underneath the spare tire.

Yeah there is. I recently was just under my Jeep installing new springs and upon disconnecting the rear sway I was pretty surprised how much room there is in that area

Hi again,
The pics shown were from the first installation, after my first 4x4 trip i did install a "T" in order to have air for my tires, it fits well, and I can now take off air and then put it again without having to carry an extra air compressor, if I get a chance I'll send you later a new pic with the "T".
Regards and have a great weekend.

I decided to keep the compressor inside to protect it more.

Re: Train Horn Install - Anyone??

I agree! If I installed one like that under the back end it would stop working after the winter! I am sure the trumpets just love salt, sand & slush!

THIS sort of (sorry) shit can't be legal (well maybe inTexas?)! I'm rolling my eyes now !
Even using it out off-road somewhere gonna reek havoc on the wildlife !
Anyone with an ounce of decency or common sense would know better !
and THAT is MY Opinion . . .

Well aren't you just a party pooper.

Try driving around Chicago for a couple days.

For the record you are correct, they are not legal...

Re: Train Horn Install - Anyone??

I don't have train horns but I did install a set of air horns. They ARE legal, are very loud, and scare the sh*t out of those drivers cutting into my lane!
