I got them at Amazon.ca and YES it does fit, with lots of room to spare!

Re: Train Horn Install - Anyone??

So you replaced your stocks horns with those, meaning you use them or nothing? Does that work out OK? I'm thinking I'd want them only for those special circumstances, not every time I need to give somebody a polite little honk to get them off their texting when the light changes ...

This is the way to do it. I've not seen the statute, but I assume train horns are illegal in my state. Louder air horns, however, are probably legal (I assume).

The horns that came stock on my 2015 are not good enough in my opinion. I much prefer the sound (both tone and volume) that was on my 2004 GC.

Can you post a video? I'd love to hear what those sound like.

Re: Train Horn Install - Anyone??

So let me get this straight ... The 16 year old kids installing these horns (I refuse to believe a grown man with at least 2-3 bills would ever install one of these) restrain themselves to using the horns for the greater good... Blasting texters and aggressive drivers. Amazing discipline.
How do you guys find the time? Smh

Re: Train Horn Install - Anyone??

Just found this interesting provision in the Georgia code:

"The driver of a motor vehicle shall, when it is reasonably necessary to ensure safe operation, give audible warning with his or her horn but shall not otherwise use such horn when upon a highway." O.C.G.A. 40-8-70

I don't think that one gets enforced much.

Oh, it also says "Every motor vehicle when operated upon a highway shall be equipped with a horn in good working order and capable of emitting sound audible under normal conditions from a distance of not less than 200 feet, but no horn or other warning device shall emit an unreasonably loud or harsh sound or a whistle." I think that's probably sufficient to let a cop drop a ticket on you if he doesn't like the sound of your aftermarket horns.

Re: Train Horn Install - Anyone??

Air horns are no where close to train horns. They are way louder than normal horns but doesnt scratch the surface of what a train horn delivers.

I had air horns in basically all my vehicles wired as my primary horn. Still debating on if im going to install them on the jeep. Its incredible how well they work in getting peoples attention. With music blasting, people talking on cell phones, facebooking, whatever, a blast of those will get them to focus on driving instead.

Average Car Horn: 110db
Air Horns: 120db
Train Horns: 152db or greater

The increased loudness and tone of the air horn definitely captures the attention of other drivers while not being obnoxious about it.

In the end, any horn is obnoxious if used improperly. Train horns are unnecessary but if you want something that will get the other drivers attention, air horns are a relatively cheap but effective way of doing so

I can make 120db with my loudest referee whistle.

Re: Train Horn Install - Anyone??

Your standards for loud are a bit high. The stock horn on the jgc (2015) is the loudest I've heard on any car I've ever owned. So much so that I deactivated the horn from the alarm because it was jarring when I set the alarm in front of the car. I've accidentally startled people whenever I have set the alarm as they are passing in front of the car.
I have a hard time grasping that you need something louder. If you have a medical hearing problem I feel for you ... But trust the rest of us it's audible .... Safety in my mind is a non issue.

Perhaps there is something wrong with my horns from the factory. My 04 had much louder (and deeper) tones. I have not personally heard other 15s aside from my own, but other people have commented on the lack of volume from my horns. Maybe only one is working? I'll have to check it out.
