sigh. that's annoying. the coupon ends up being a better deal than the treadlightly thing. after paying the 60+75 i only end up around $300 versus $500 (or more?) from the coupon. the only thing is i don't know if the coupon can be used for custom orders, which i will have.

Re: TreadLightly 1% under Invoice discount - Experiences?

When you buy a new Jeep using Tread Lightly / Affiliate (1% below invoice pricing) + any rebate/cash back, there is an additional $75 fee, but the dealer cannot charge you a documentation fee. Documentation fees can be anywhere from $199 on up - so Affiliate pricing saves you from the extra charge too.

That is great to know. Where does it state that about the documentation fee? My dealer didn't say anything about that but he did say I could get the treadlightly price.

It's on the tread lightly documentation that you will receive. It probably mentions it on their website as well. Every vehicle will have an invoice stating what the final affiliate price is. Dealers should be aware that they can't charge any documentation fee.

I just called the affiliate number and asked them and they said the $75 admin fee doesn't have anything to do with the dealer documentation fees, etc. I guess I'll just have to wait for the documentation to come in.

Yes, I saw this but when I just asked my salesman about it he said the $189 "administrative" fee that they charge is separate from the $75 affiliate fee. Whatever - at this point I don't care anymore. Am worn down by this negotiation process.

He's full of b.s. Don't pay that. They're either misinformed or trying to srew you. You need to make them remove that fee before you sign any paperwork. If they won't, start walking to the door. They'll either chase you down or call you later.

can anyone else that has done the treadlightly respond whether you were charged an additional admin or document fee by the dealer in addition to the $75 for the affiliate program?

I think the $75 goes to the affiliate program. You pay $60 to treadlightly in order to qualify.

Re: TreadLightly 1% under Invoice discount - Experiences?

I need to understand this, if the MSRP is47k, but the invoice is 43k, if I use tread lightly I will be paying 1% less than the 43k?
