It depends on what was negotiated between the dealers. When I get a vehicle from another dealer I pay invoice less holdback or as we call it NET. Sometimes a dealer will want me to pay invoice so they can keep the holdback and sometimes they ask me to split the holdback.
When we do a trade we pay invoice less holdback to the dealer we are getting the vehicle from and we get a check for invoice less holdback for the vehicle we sell to them. That way both dealers get to keep the holdback on the vehicles.
