The worst part is that I just got her back after a four week wait for a urea injector. I was just on the way to the dump with my daughter and dog. Honestly I can't find a single unaffected panel on the whole thing. Sigh.
Had the same exact thing happen to me this past spring. Insurance covered it under comprehensive due to being act of God. Over $4000.00 in damage to my front end and hood. Skid plates saved my undercarrage as I ran over the tree.
Airbags don't work that way. There's a very sophisticated ECU that takes information about crush forces, deceleration forces, and occupancy and uses it to determine when to deploy the airbags and at which stage. No way the airbags would have deployed in that sort of situation.
Finally got her into the shop on Monday. The new estimate from the damage appraiser is $13,030. Still only going to cost me the deductible, so not the end of the world, but damn that's a lot of trouble for one little tree.
Between the three week estimate on the body work and the back order on the catalyst (which they can't order till I drop it off at the dealership) I should be just getting my rig back around Christmas. :slapfight: D'oh.
I finally got the Jeep back after about 40 days in the body shop! Let me preface the rest of this post with this: I am extremely anal retentive!
Their painter did a much better job than the robots at JNAP. The 'tiger stripes' (as I call them) in the flake are all gone now. The result is wonderful - the painter is a god in my eyes. They painted every panel except for the tailgate and the rear bumper. I did, however, notice that the bumper and fenders are a slightly different shade. They agreed to paint the last two panels to make it a full respray.
Other small issues:
1) A weird ripple in the windshield gasket which I've asked them to fix.
2) The detailed ripped up my CanvasBack liner which trashed the carpet in the back.
3) The driver's mirror wasn't replaced, but has scratches.
4) Whoever buffed the car should get a lesson in detailing. Aggressive pads on brand new paint left swirls in some spots. They offer a full buff out for free after the paint hardens.
5) Keyless entry and adaptive headlights are not working.

Yowza! She looks pretty great now and it's nice to have her back. Now I just need some issues resolved from paint and then she's off to the dealer to see if diesel emissions stuff can ever get fixed. I might have a fully functional car by spring time!
Our specs are different to yours, they come with a lot of stuff that are optional extras, I will ignore Laredos as they are the most different to yours.
Limited 3.6 $57,000 plu taxes etc..
Overland 3.6 $67,000 plu taxes etc..
Summit Diesel $77,000+
SRT $80,000 +
Our dollar is falling pretty quickly, so these must be going up soon.
