Trying to decide which Jeep

Hey, new to the Jeep world and rather excited to join the forum. I have been searching and reading this forum for days. There's great information here!

I have been going back and fourth between two vehicles. Just having troubles deciding.

My requirements I drive around 80km to work and home everyday and have a small fishing boat 16ft with 30hp motor. So that's all I will be towing.

Past car was 09 Acura Tl Sh Awd

Both are 2014
1. $42k CDN with the extended 5 year 100k gold warranty.
Mileage 38k km Limited with V8
( color is the bright cherry red) with Lux II ( and technology package)
tan interior with black carpet. Has bi xenon lights and led headlamps. Upside it has the V8 but no tow package. No air suspension

2. $43,500CDN 5 year 120K Gold warranty. Overland V6 ( granite crystal dark grey) black interior.
Mileage is 38k km optional packages mopor package. And it has off-road package II/ skid plates so it came 18inch rims due to that package.

So my dielma is lose some exterior options for the V8 and its located in my city whereas the overland has the exterior looks which I favor over the limited but is also 8 hr drive away or $349 plan ride. I know towing my fishing boat would be fine with either models just tossed between the two.

Are the interior finishes the same between the two?

What do you guys think?

Any kids or grandkids? We went with the dark interior to avoid/hide stains.

Do you plan on going off-road at all?
Will you switch to winter tires?
20 vs 18 inch tire cost?
Does either Jeep have new tires? The factory tires are probably pretty much gone with that mileage.

Re: Trying to decide which Jeep

No kids as of yet but in the near future yes. As for he 18inch rims I would be taking off the all seasons and put on some winter tires. I have friend in the tire business and get wicked deals. I would also buy a summer set of 20inch wheels and tires for the summer. I am not a frequent off-roader either but hey maybe that may change with this purchase. In my area our winters ( Ottawa Ont) are snow covered and cold. Taking it off-road would mean me driving somewhere else to do it.

Because you asked....

Limited sounds good.
You will love the tech package and the V8.
No QL,- one less(potential major) headache.
80k commute- will be great with Hemi.great highway mileage.
IMO limited will be easy to resell.
If you plan to keep a while negotiate a better warranty.
Red is not a popular color on WK2s- not sure good or bad.
Check build date- many negative posts on early 2014 builds.

I own a limited and its almost maintainance free.

Good luck!

Re: Trying to decide which Jeep

Yeah, I had the same thoughts about the air suspension but figured I would only own this vehicle wih warranty coverage anyways. It's the red that I am on the fence about. I know the overland was built in 07/20/2014

How come you don't want an overland or summit? Are you trying to stay away from the air suspension? I like the look of the overland compared to the limited. Something about the black plastic around the wheel wells and bumper that I am not keen on.

I don't mind the limited and how it looks. Ya trying to avoid QL.
I'd have to upgrade the limited wheels tho.
New Overland 20s are sweet.

I do like the colour in an overland or summit. I think due to it being a limited I just find the plastic trim on the outside not as appealing, When the bumper and trim is painted to match it's alot more prestige looking That's how I feel.

So my challenge is:

Overland: Looks A+ / Has the trailer package A+/ QL?/ OffRoad PK A+

Limited: V8 A+

On the fence about the QL, I know that it will be less reliable than the standard suspension but both cars have extended warranty. I have read the forms that the V8 is a nice feature and the V6 is still practical. So I know i would most likely be happy with either. Most likely deciding by Wednesday!
