I have a 2014 JGC Summit. I want to turn off the forward collision warning. According to the user guide, there should be a button below the climate controls to do that. Picture in the guide clearly shows the button, but on my vehicle that button isn't labeled and isn't active. How do I turn off the FCW??
I don't have ACC or FCW in my Overland. Do you have an early or late build 2014? And was this a late availability feature?
The reason I ask... I'm looking at both a 3rd and 7th edition owner's manual and there's no mention of FCW that I can find in the 3rd edition. Just ACC.
From the quick guide, the FCW button is to the left of the ECO button. You said it's not marked so that would also make me wonder if you actually have it. I assume you do otherwise you wouldn't be asking about it.
It looks like one other way you can turn it off is through the UConnect settings screen. That was described in the quick guide... you can set it to FAR, NEAR and OFF.
Don't you turn it off in the UConnect settings permanently? The hardware off buttons are a per instance setting - when you restart the car, you have to do it again.
Thanks for your reply. Build was late August 2013. I definitely have FCW and it is described in my user guide. I looked at the settings first, assuming I could turn it off from there. My only options are "near" or "far" - no choice of "off". Seems very strange.

All 2014 Summits have FCW. Control, Settings, Safety and Driving Assistance. There is also a button just below the Auto button on the HVAC that temporarily disables it. If your saying you don't have that button below auto then you have got some big problems because it is not an option on Summits all of them have it.
hmmm sorry to tell you this but looks like they put your summit together wrong. knew I had seen this around somewhere. looks like a trip to the dealer for a new center stack http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0800314.pdf
It is a button that shows a little car running into the back of another little car and if you push it off lights up. right below the auto button on the HVAC fan dial
Thanks for the link to the PDF - that describes the problem! My build date fits those in the bulletin & I only have two buttons below the HVAC auto control. I will take it in for the repair and there's probably an update to the UConnect software that will give me the "off" choice in the settings as well.

I don't think there is an FCW off choice in the uconnect settings only the front button I could have sworn there was a uconnect button but I just checked and only far an near. maybe one of the uconnect updates got rid of it or maybe I was mental thinking it was there lol
Hmmmm.... You're probably right about that. Means we have to make a conscious decision to turn it off every time with the button instead of having it off permanently through the UConnect. It is a safety feature, after all!
