Re: turning off auto shut down on 2016 wk2

This is what happens (which is silly) when I park my MY16 3.6LV6
Pull into garage....depress brake to come to stop....engine shuts off....move shifter to park....engine comes back on....then turn off car with push button

Off-On-Off in all of 5 seconds!

Who designed this?!? They obviously never drove it as a daily driver

So silly, right? I made it a routine turn ESS off as soon as I start the vehicle. Only use it when I'm on a red light that I know will take a while to turn green.

Has not bothered me much. Start stop can be a little weird sometimes. But.. I dont find it difficult at all just to push button and turn it off when I dont want it. Heck I have to push a button to start it.

Re: turning off auto shut down on 2016 wk2

I love the idea that the engine turns off at long lights but it drives me nuts when engine turns off after one second of break depression!
Adding even a two second delay would be awesome and three seconds would be a perfect 'fix'.
That would be a great compromise to both save fuel and not drive the driver crazy!

I love the fact mine turns off ONLY when I press the button that say's "OFF". Still more ingenious government inspired regulation to save the whales, climate, and the poor people. I wonder when I'll be getting a notice from the Feds to emission test my barbeque grill?

Re: turning off auto shut down on 2016 wk2

All these problems could be solved easily with the amount of brake pressure applied.

Apply hard pressure when wheels not rolling = off. Applying hard pressure when wheels rolling will not shut the vehicle off. Add a couple delays here and there for those one off situations.

Light/normal pressure - vehicle stays running.

Yea, most of the time i feather the brake and now starting to 'roll' through stop signs
'Normal' pressure most definitely shuts off engine. Its like the brake light...super light touch = no brake light. Actually use brake to uh...brake and lights do and should come on.
But, when parking, i prefer to come to a full stop

Right on. As previously mentioned, they didn't think this one through.

Who would have ever thought we would come to the day where the amount of pedal pressure applied to the brake pedal would be instrumental in keeping your engine from quitting. Those college degree's are really starting to pay off.

All these idiotic fuel savers and I still get under 13 with my Hemi. Give me something fun to drive. I will worry about the stupid planet when I'm dead. I can't wait to see how Jeep screws up the Wrangler in the next generation.

Not to happy with this new jeep it really not as good as the old 02 wj and this jeep is NOT a true 4X4 no mater what they say nothing beats a select trac 4x4

Those of you who dislike the auto-stop start...please see my website Smart Stop Start - Home. Please sign up for notification of the initial production run. I expect shipments to begin in late October.

If anyone has questions, please ask!
