TV transport

My TV died tonight. I'd like to pick one up tomorrow before the NFL games start.

What's the largest screen size you've moved in your WK2?

Re: TV transport

This is a question that can be answered by folding the rear seat down and applying a tape measure.

ssgunner... you gonna share that popcorn?

Re: TV transport

The problem is the box they come in. My 65" was made much larger by the shipping carton. It needed most all the width of the 8' bed of my F-150 for the ride home.

Yeah, you can take it out of the box in the parking lot. But then you wind up looking like those guys who pull up in front of Home Depot with a Honda Civic, to take home all the lumber for the new deck they're trying to build.

Re: TV transport

For something this important (TV and ballgame)...rent a trailer big enough for what you want if it will not fit in you JGC.

Or one of those little pickups you can rent at Home Depot for $19/day or so.

Re: TV transport

Better yet, get Best Buy to deliver it. They haul out your old broken one and all of the packaging that came with the new one.

Re: TV transport

+1 on that, especially if, like I did, you've still got one of those 200-pound CRT's serving boat anchor duty in your den. But good luck on that today - they're probably kinda busy.

Re: TV transport

I'm probably too late here, but the question isn't how big of a TV, but how big of a box. Measure the cargo space, and then measure the boxes of the TVs you're looking at. To be truthful though, anything bigger than say a 46" TV would be something I'd want delivered by the store. Sometimes patience is important.
