the file once it has decompressed is 564 MB this is the one you should copy to your thumb drive, it is called "swdl". once you download the file from the uconnect website you must double click on your desktop or where ever and then copy the swdl file that is produced to your thumbdrive top level no subfolders. also make sure you are fat32 formatted exfat and ntfs wont work. Try that see if it helps

Not for me. If anything it seems worse.

Yep! I was out this morning and when I would restart the car 'Shuffle" would flash on and then go out. When I got the Jeep in March it wouldn't stay on, unless I set it with a voice command. That doesn't work now either. It also takes longer for the SD card to load.

No big deal since I mostly listen to FM, but it is disappointing to see them taking a step backwards.

I believe this to be tied to the replicating file complaint... looks like they still have some fixing to do in this area.

I just upgraded and the USB Shuffle works just fine for me. I was a little hesitant to upgrade since I use Shuffle a lot but I had to see what changed. I did notice that the Uconnect system starts up faster than before. No more 10 second delay.

Re: Uconnect 8.4 verion 13.48.3 available

I noticed this afternoon that my backup camera is looking like the video isn't refreshing properly and is getting jumpy. Up until now it has been flawless.

I don't care about the apps, so I may 'upgrade' back a step. I have the last update on its own USB drive and will install it if things don't straighten out soon.

I also noticed today that when I remote started my rear defroster came on. I don't have the seats or steering wheel set to come on, and they didn't.

Nothing changed whatsoever for Canadian 8.4A unit. No apps, skins or changes in remote start settings. So far nothing changed but the version number.

Yeah, Repeat button doesn't stick either now across restarts either.

No biggy. Not uncommon. They fix one thing and it breaks something else and then realize, oh that's why we did it that way and have to put it back.

Overall though, so far so good.

It took about an hour after the download to see mine. Then download the same apps on your phone - for the iPhone, go to the app store, and install iheart radio, pandora, slacker, and aha. Then log onto each one on your phone, and set up a free account. Remember your user names and passwords. Then go to the moparownerconnect.com, and log in. From there, under the Uconnect quick links, click on the setup mobile profile on the middle left, and link the mobile apps to your account. Lots of steps, but this should get them up and running. Don't forget to update your Uconnect software on the phone for the latest version for all of this to work.
I didn't have to update anything besides the firmware and everything just worked. Phone always updates itself as needed. This was because everything else was in place and registered from earlier times.

Only extra step I had to do was go online and basically enter my account info for Pandora (and each other app I use) so Uconnect can login to the Apps services when it has access to your jeep account.

Also Bluetooth pairing has to be up for all this to work. The "Apps" download, eventually, through the Jeep's own Cell Service. That's why they take a while to appear. Depends on signal level etc.

Then it "Tethers" to your phone over Bluetooth to your phone through it's own proprietary App (Uconnect), great Idea. I've seen other Cars try to use Generic Tethering (HotSpot, Straight Bluetooth Tether from Android etc.) and it was disaster. Then the Apps run "Native" on the Car using the Phone for Data through Bluetooth. Bluetooth shouldn't impact quality. You should get the same quality the Phone would Natively.

I'm curious what "Services" we'll have to buy from Jeep for this to continue to work. I think it will be part of the "Ucconnect Remote Car Start Package etc." which will be 19.99/mo, I think. Still doubt it's worth it for me.

Yeah, that is what mine is doing as well...the light comes on, and then immediately goes out. I m thinking about re-installing the update to see if that will make a difference. I listen to music on my SD cards mainly, so this is a bit of an annoyance.

Did a little research for us Canadian consumers of the JGC with the UConnect 8.4. Apps are not and will not be available for the foreseeable future. No deal has been made with UConnect and a Canadian wireless carrier so anything that relies on it in the JGC is not available.

That is also why the UConnect Access App is not available to Canadians via the iTunes Store.

Due to the monopolistic nature of the Canadian cellular providers I do not see them giving UConnect any access anytime soon.

Dealerships should make potential customers aware of this.
