Re: Uconnect Access for the 2014 is a GO!!

I "had" the XM Traffic/Weather in my 2010 Maxima, I didn't think it was that great in the NY/NJ area. As for the XM radio subscription, after it expires, wait them off, they will send you offers for about $75 for a year (@$6.25/month) or if you can't wait to renew, tell them you want that offer. I honestly don't care much for satellite radio since the XM-Sirius merger - quality of the sound is not as good as it used to be prior to the merger.

Re: Uconnect Access for the 2014 is a GO!!

^ Totally agree. I will take it if its free but i will no longer pay for satellite radio. It has become too overpriced and the programming isnt all that special anymore. I looked at pricing last night and i couldnt believe how much they are asking. I remember a couple of years ago when they only wanted about $2-3 for internet radio access. Now they want $14.99. With free radio like Pandora and Slacker, who are they kidding?

Re: Uconnect Access for the 2014 is a GO!!

I just signed up last night and got this up and running. It's strange, after activation I had to wait an hour before I could confirm my account and use the features properly. I also had the system lock up on me like others did and had to restart the entire car to get it back operational. Just the screen locked up, but everything else still worked. I could still hear the music playing and use the steering wheel controls to change the stations or adjust the volume. Do we know when the update is suppose to come out?

I am going to say No, hard to remember if my lights were on still at 7am. Also realized as I left the city last night that if you zoom into about 50ft you can see a ton more buildings.(I keep mine on auto) Will take another picture next time I am in the city.

one of the pictures is with a destination set and the others are with no destination set.

Re: Uconnect Access for the 2014 is a GO!!

Lots of Uconnect problems being brought up on this thread. Anyone not having problems? Is it mostly newer smartphone users with problems? How about people with dumb phones w/bluetooth?

Re: Uconnect Access for the 2014 is a GO!!

Just a heads up for people living in rural areas - check the Sprint coverage map @ Sprint Coverage for 3G coverage in your area. You will not be able to activate Uconnect without it.

I purchased a 2014 GC Overland from a dealer 250 miles away (yes, I live in the sticks, and this was the nearest dealer with the configuration I wanted, and a very good price. Too impatient to order). Anyway, fantastic truck, no complaints with the mechanics or the paint, interior, radio, etc. I didn't activate Uconnect while I was there, waiting until I got home.

When I tried to activate it, I got a fatal error with a message about an invalid VIN. When I called Uconnect to work it out, I found out that I am in a Sprint roaming zone, and the nearest native 3G Sprint service area is 2 1/2 hours east of me. I will not be able to activate until I am within a Sprint 3G area.

Now, I haven't yet called the closest dealer (do they really tell customers they have to take a road trip in their brand new vehicle for activation?) so perhaps there is a work around. I will report back.

Hope this info is useful to someone out there

Put your music on an SD Card. There really isn't a hard drive on the radio, think more for the Nav stuff.

There is a thread on using the SD card in the audio section

Really no internal hard drive - I thought I read somewhere it had a 40GB for music etc which is pretty standard these days with cars.. I haven't looked at using the SD card yet but thought you could transfer the music down. I'll have to check out the owners manual.

The RA4 only has 16gb of memory.
