Join the party. Exact same problems. Mine rebooted 6 times within one hour last night. Sad thing is everything else about the truck is awesome.

Re: Uconnect Access for the 2014 is a GO!!

I am not a Jeep expert but I do know a fair bit about touch screen interfaces. There will be lots of updates for it in the near future I would imagine. The initial features at least worked fairly smooth and you didn't have to worry about it telling you to make a left onto the interstate from a rest stop. Just ask a Cadillac owner how amazing (not) the Cue system has been. It didn't work right at all from day one and has had many recalls. It is getting to the point now where it works ok... at least the 8.4AN started with working fairly well.

JWS360 will become famous soon enough
Why is this so?

Can you explain why this is so? How and why do car makers send out supposedly upper level products so utterly filled with bugs? Don't they do ANY real world testing?

Rather pointedly illustrates why I never get a newer vehicle until its been out for a bit, especially with regard to electronics. I've seen this too many times.

Yes they do real testing that's why some cars being built are held an additional 20-30 days.

Re: Why is this so?

Honestly, money and development time is the simple answer.

The more complicated answer is vehicles in general are not internet connected yet the way everything else is in order to keep up with the changes. Let me put it this way, there has been 3 IOS (iphone) updates since the release of the 8.4AN system. Who knows what changes that might affect Bluetooth communications may have happened. I know that sounds trivial but in the CUE system in the Cadillac I tested it and it worked terrible with my RAZR HD and pretty good with an iphone (now I know what the developers tested more).... Three updates later and an update on my phone and now it works pretty good.

The 8.4AN system is trying to pack a lot of useful features into it and in the development they probably added a whole bunch of other features. In the end some of the original features don't work properly but WOW now it can do 20 things instead of 8. I do some work with some very high end commercial and residential automation manufacturers and one of the first things you need to do when installing new stuff is update the firmware. In the next few years that will be true with vehicles, just before delivery they will plug them in and check for infotainment updates because I gaurantee you by the time the first customers took delivery of these systems some fixes have already been in development.

Not a great answer but in order to get the best and latest to market first in the infotainment world it gets rushed. I don't agree with it entirely but I am also the guy who wants the new tech in my car and I might switch vehicle manufaturers to get it.... that is what the manufacturer worries about.

Does anyone know if there's a way to send an address from google maps in a browser to the nav in the car?

My 2010 BMW M3 could do that. It was a great feature. But so far, the 2014 WK2 can't do it.

Not the last one I tried. The call centre can push the directions to your car but I wasn't able to. That may have changed?
