Re: Uconnect Access for the 2014 is a GO!!

I do hope that they will give iPhone ability to tether via Bluetooth. It looks like only Android phones have that ability which sux...

"To get started using Via Mobile Apps, first register your Uconnect® Access
system. During registration you can establish a link to your media accounts such
as Aha, iHeartRadio, Pandora or Slacker. You can go back to update your account
at any time by visiting MoparOwnerConnect.com and selecting “Edit Profile”.
• If using an Android smartphone, the Apps will function using a Bluetooth®
connection. Pair your smartphone to the radio, log in to the Uconnect® Access
App on your smartphone, and check to make sure Via Mobile is ready to provide
data to the radio.
• If using an iPhone smartphone, log in to the Uconnect® Access App on your
smartphone, plug the iPhone into the radio using a USB cable, and check to
make sure Via Mobile is ready to provide data to the radio."

Stream Pandora from your own SmartPhone?

This is what I do. To use the Pandora or Slacker mobile apps (whenever they become available) on the RA4, you have to plug your iPhone in to the USB port. Why bother when I can stream Slacker via BT and the artist; song; etc. displays on the RA4's large screen and I can advance songs & change volume via the steering wheel buttons.

RA3 navigation will be different than RA4 navigation. Milous stated this long ago.

I guess that'a another project for another night - converting thousands of songs to mp3. I feel like it's 1998 all over again.
So if you use a USB flash drive M4A files would work?

The iPhone will stream audio via bluetooth also. I could not get it set up at first, but deleted phone and then paired it again. Message came up saying phone and portable audio supported. Not sure what I did differently, but it is working with an iPhone 4S.

Mine streams via bluetooth fine. I stream itunes, songza, pandora, etc and the skip button on the steering wheel works with them too. I had dealer pair mine, so I can't help with pairing advice however.

I think what they talk about here is a little bit different.Streaming audio via Bluetooth is a different animal. What I'm talking about here is essentially ability it uses your phone's data plan to power UCONNECT apps ... yelp, bing, whatever ... Seems like with Android you can do this via Bluetooth but with iPhone you cannot.

I don't think the "via mobile" apps are available yet to know if it will work. I will check again, but as of yesterday they were not. Anyone else seeing the other apps available in uconnect yet?

No I don't see them either as of this morning. I called uconnect they said they don't have a date but should be soon. She also said you would get an email to your registered email address when available.
