Same with my '14. I've had every blessed recall done, lots of software updates. It also seems to like chewing through sunroof controllers and motors...I think I'm on the 3rd or 4th set. Always gotten me home though. My parents have a '15...3 months after they bought it, the night before they were supposed to leave my house to go back to Nebraska...pop went out to start it and...nothing. Wouldn't even crank. Had it towed to the local dealer and it took them a week to figure it out. Only had 3,000 miles on it.

With all those changes is there any horsepower changes between the 2015 V6 and 2016 V6? I did see a 2mpg combined difference.

Re: Upgrading to '16 from a '14 - Hemi worth it?

only 5 more hp up from 290 to 295 which wont be noticeable. but the torque profile is changed bringing more torque in at lower rpms giving it more low end grunt. this is where they are saying you will feel it. compression ratio up to 11.3:1 from 10.2:1 on the old one and still only needs 87 gas. Many changes in this new engine. I bet a lot of this is in preparation of some type of forced induction in the future ones. I have driven the old 14/15 3.6 but I'm going to go test drive this new one for my sister sounds like it has a lot of promise, although I wont let her be a first taker will see how the betas do.

Assuming my trade comes in at what I want, it looks like I'm going to go for a Limited 75th Anniversary w/ the Hemi, ORA-II, RA4 and 75th Anniversary Lux in Crystal Granite.

Re: Upgrading to '16 from a '14 - Hemi worth it?

I have the V8 and love it. At the time I was shopping (winter 2014 into early 2015) there were a lot of complaints about the transmission in the V6s so that definitely factored into my decision. Plus, I figured I'd get the 8 before they went the way of the dinosaurs

If I were shopping for a 16 right now, the thought of a reengineered V6 would give me pause. I believe that they've worked out the kinks in the transmission now but would be a little nervous to be one of the first with the reworked engine. Might be better to wait a model year on that. But that's just MHO.

Unless the Jeep configurator website is wrong (quite possible), the 75th Ann. model only comes with a V6?

Highly recommend the Granite, though. Mine looks great.

That's a bit what I would be worried about also plus they have made some progress with the 845RE but this new engine has a different torque profile bringing more torque in at lower rpms which is good from an engine standpoint but I'm sure that translates into changes in software and shifting for the 845RE. So we know the multitude of software changes there were with the old 14/15 3.6 how long til they shake out on the new engine/trans combination?

Might be just the Laredo - I'm getting the Limited 75th. Dealer was able to add the V8.

My current Limited is Max Steel...I love the color, but it's not available on the 75th. That said, I like the looks of the bronze and granite.

V8 hasn't been available on the Laredo since '14 and now apparently won't be available on 2WD models.

I see it now, I had just clicked through on 75th anniversary and it defaulted to Laredo. Wouldn't make much sense to restrict a special edition to one motor choice.

I really like the Max Steel as well.

I'm just saying - I have never regretted getting a more powerful engine. I have regretted settling for an engine with less power before (when I had no other choice). As a result, my personal philosophy is to always err on the side of more power.
