USB port on 2014

I have a question. I have a thumb drive that I have some music on and I leave it plugged in but about half the time when I restart the jeep I need to unplug and plug it back in for it to read the music. Has anyone else seen this? I am thinking it will get corrected with an update but I was just wondering if others had noticed that. Other than that mine has been pretty much flawless so far.

I have this issue with both my sd and USB ports. It is one of my top annoyances with my Grand. Hopefully the next upgrade will fix it. I will be calling this in to corporate tomorrow to start the repair process.

I have not tried the sd port but I am thinking this will be taken care of with a future update.

Haven't tried the USB or the sd slot but our cd player does this. We just had a update but I don't know if it fixed it or not...

Re: USB port on 2014

I am using the SD port with music and have no issues with it seeing it each time I start the Jeep. Sometimes the USB port in the back seats will need to have the device reseated though.

Re: USB port on 2014

Have you waited a while to see if it recognizes it or do you just pull it out if it's not recognized within 10 seconds?

Sometimes when I start mine it takes a good 30 seconds to recognize the iPod I leave plugged into the USB at all times. However, it always finds it eventually and I have never had to remove it and plug it back in to get it to load.

I wait some time but I am not sure how long. It has not done it recently.

Re: USB port on 2014

USB stays in all the time for me. Usually takes 10 seconds or so to recognize it.

On mine after 30 seconds or so of not reading it just switches over to the radio. then I switch it back and pull out the usb and reconnect and it works. Maybe the problem is with my thumb drive?

Re: USB port on 2014

I haven't used an sd card in my car, but my USB is always plugged in. It starts playing music the second I turn the car on. i never have to replug it back in. Doesn't sound serious tho u should just get it checked out at the dealer I'm sure they can fix that for you easily.
