OP, you still around? How important is flipper glass to you? (as in the glass in the tailgate opens independently). With the '14 refresh, flipper glass went away. It might be something you'll wish for when you have that boat hitched up and need to get something out of the back...

Everything else I can think of has been discussed ad naseum already.

Not sure about that. I think we can get two or three more pages out of eco mode. Then I'll say the words "fish bite" and we'll see where this thread takes us.

I have a V8 '13 Overland Summit. I really like it quite a bit, however I don't get great gas mileage (90% city driving). I've read about so many issues with the 8 speed tranny, so I'd definitely keep that in mind. I also use my flipper glass on a daily basis and would miss that feature if I upgraded.

The '13 is still a really nice vehicle. Good luck!

I have a 2012 V8 Limited.

The 6 speed trans has all the programming updates. The truck runs great now, super smooth.

I just drove 2014 summit around for 3 weeks, the biggest thing I noticed about the 2014 is that the shifts are smooth and frequent.
IMO, In city driving it(2014 V8) feels very similar to the V6. The V8 shows up on the highway tho;effortless and quiet.
The character in the V8 is always present in the(2012/2013) 6 Speed trans.

I also missed the flipper glass and can do without that new shifter.

Picking up a 2012 or 2013 is a great rental choice until they put out the 2017s.

Thanks Everyone for your respones!

Flipper glass would be nice, but not an absolute necessity.
The wife realy likes the dark brown interior, the one that comes in the summit.

we found a 1 owner 2014 Summit HEMI with 24,000 miles on it, clearn carfax nice condition, and they are asking 38 grand.

Does this seem reasonable?

Thanks again for all the advice on this.
