Re: V6 vs. V8

I moved from a 2007 WK V8 to the 2011 WK2 V6... and I have no regrets.

Here's a quick review I wrote about a month ago...

Initial Thoughts: 2007 WK Hemi to WK2 Pentastar

Re: V6 vs. V8

I had the same debate when I ordered my limited. I ended up going with the V-6 because of the gas mileage I drive a lot of miles. I think now if I had it to do over again I would probably go with the 8. I test drove both a couple times and the 8 does have a lot more power especially from a stop. The 8 takes off with no effort where the 6 is working. One other thing is the 6 does not have much power below 2000 rpm and the trans is setup for fuel economy so it tries to keep the rpms down by getting to the next gear quickly. So the 8 will cost more but probably be more fun to drive.

I agree, a nice torquey diesel on this nice jeep would be sweet. I would easily drop more money on one!

Dittos...as long as it was turbocharged with the kind of torque that could break things.

Re: V6 vs. V8

What lead me to Jeep in the 1st place was tow ratings....and that included a Hemi.

Re: V6 vs. V8

I originally wanted the V6, but drove the HEMI and the Jeep felt better. I was not a fan of 2nd gear in the V6. That said, the 6 is very smooth and quiet.

Re: V6 vs. V8

Get the V8.... mate

The six would be fine, but nothing compares to the lazy lugging ability of a large capacity V8.

Re: V6 vs. V8

The Hemi was on the Ward's 10 Best Engines list for 2003 through 2007, and again in 2009. Still one of the best!

Re: V6 vs. V8

Just drove the Hemi WK2 back after picking it up in Maine and what a beast! I'm loving the HEMI!
