Re: Valet mode?

sounds like valet mode really clips the nuts off, hope you get it corrected, and quickly.

The car isn't actually in valet mode when the message appears. It's just something that was probably overlooked when the software for the 2016s was created.

Re: Valet mode?

I didn't see this topic when I posted yesterday. I have same issue. I asked a tech today and they have no idea. I'm not bringing it in because it seems fine but I'm just confused with the message. Maybe my 3.6 should be faster than it already is!ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1462051164.120514.jpg

Re: Valet mode?

2016 Grand Cherokee Limited 75th Anniversary here. 4 days old. Valet mode appears when I hit traction control too. Also seems the driver seat memory does not work. You think they are related? In valet mode the seat memory goes inactive? Let me know if anyone solved this before I waste a whole day at the dealership. Thanks.

Re: Valet mode?

I have a 16 high altitude v6 and have not seen this. I've used sport mode and Evo on/off.

Re: Valet mode?

The more i research the more i am finding out this is Not a software error but is there by design to keep esc enabled to a higher level then 65% off & disables the option to completely disable the esc by holding down the button. I have been in touch with Chrysler & this is what there engineering dept is telling the rep. They are intentionally keeping the Laredo with level 1 "quadra trac" from disabling ECS. Pulling the ABS fuse is the only option & is a very sad option on a Jeep. We live in a Nanny society

Re: Valet mode?

I just bought my 2016 Jeep Limited w/ the hemi and getting the sames message. I just hope that there isn't more that is nerfed on the vehicle cause I am really loving the way this drives so far.

Re: Valet mode?

I just bought a 2016 Grand Cherokee and it does the same thing. I tried entering the vehicle with the keys separated (one inside the house) and it does it with both keys. I noticed this when I was checking out how to turn off the traction control completely. The single press puts it into an off mode but it will reactivate on its own if it feels like it. I read somewhere you with the vehicle running in park to press the traction control button for 5 seconds and you will hear a beep which indicates it is fully disengaged. All mine does is say not available in valet mode. The manual says nothing about valet mode but I haven't gone through the disk yet.

P.S. Dealerships are like the Government.. full of shit.

Re: Valet mode?

NOTE: Push the “ESC Off” switch (if necessary), to place
the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system in “Partial
Off” mode, before rocking the vehicle. Refer to “Electronic
Brake Control” in “Starting And Operating” for
further information. Once the vehicle has been freed,
push the ESC Off switch again to restore “ESC On”
mode.
