Valet mode?

So I'm playing with the traction control on the 2016 and this comes up on the Driver information display:

"Stability control options unavailable in valet mode"

Is this normal? It still turns the traction on and off, but why mention valet mode? I can't even find that setting anywhere.

I think valet mode is an SRT model function. I don't have an SRT so I don't know, but they must have a button or setting that turns valet mode on. It puts restrictions on the vehicle which limits performance I think.

Yes, I know about the SRT valet mode that restricts rpms, 1st gear, etc...

I have the 3.6.

I was just wondering if the dealer left it in some kind of valet mode before delivery?

Basically, when other people here press the stability control button, down by the eco button, do their displays say this nonsense about valet mode?

Re: Valet mode?

My 16 summit v6 is new but I have had the ECO button on and off several times and I have never seen any valet message pop up. I can't understand why a 6 would ever get that message. Maybe someone else would know.
Edit
I just noticed that you mentioned the stability control button also. I have never turned that on or off so I don't really know if that would cause the message on mine.

Re: Valet mode?

I am not sure about your car but I had a Chevy Silverado a few yrs back and it had a valet remote not a button.... If u used one of the remotes to unlockthedoors it would put it into valet mode... The way toget it out was use the # 1 remote.... There should be numbers on the back of them f there is a difference in the remotes.... Like I said not sure if your car is like the one I had but worth a look if u still can't figure it out.... Hope u get it worked out Bro....

Hi Vanguard,

You can check out the Drive Mode Supplement online by going to Jeep Owners | Download an Owners Manual 2004 - 2011 | Jeep. For Valet Mode it states:

“While in Valet Mode the following vehicle configurations are set and
locked to prevent unauthorized modification:
• All-Wheel Drive is set to 50/50.
• Transmission locks out access to first gear and up-shifts earlier than
normal.
• Stability Control, Steering, and Suspension are set to their STREET
settings.
• Steering wheel paddle shifters are disabled.
• The Drive Mode interface is not available. Pushing the SRT button
on Selec-Track switch will display the unlock keypad.
• The ESC Off button is disabled.
• Engine power output is reduced.
• The Launch Control button is disabled.”

Hope this helps!

I understand this. But I do not have an srt jeep. I have a 2016 limited 75 anniversary with the 3.6l v6.

There is no special option for valet mode anywhere in the car like the srt has.

My question is, do other people see this when they push the stability control button?

Did the dealer leave my car in valet mode before delivery?

Re: Valet mode?

I have a 2016 High Altitude and mine does the same thing. Not really sure as to why but i'm guessing its just a simple programming error. When I first picked up my car I was messing around and saw the same valet mode message after turning off the traction control. Glad it's not just me.

Re: Valet mode?

Mine is doing it as well, 2016 75th Limited with the Hemi. I definitely have first gear enabled. That being said - I disabled my paddles manually, and have my steering set to sport, not normal. I also leave Eco off.

Re: Valet mode?

So it seems to be a software error.

Good thing the forum exists.
