I put the piece of paper on the seat bottom and it definitely does not blow, it sucks, but again, just barely. It was almost imperceptible.

I did notice, upon close inspection, that the ventilation holes appear to have some kind of shiny backing under the leather. If I push on the leather with the palm of my hand, it sounds like crackling plastic. Maybe somebody forgot to remove a plastic protective sheet in my seats?

I'm waiting for someone to come out with a "turbo-suck" mod!
It has some sort of plastic layer under the leather. Whatever it is, WK2 leather seats are cheaply made. I already ordered replacement OEM leather seat cover.

And that ventilating motor is SO noisy. Among the worst ventilated seats I've ever had.

I had leather seats in my '05 Liberty and I must say they felt more substantial and much stiffer than my Overland leather. I prefer the softer, smoother feel to the new seats. As far as the noise is concerned, you might complain to your dealer, mine make no noise at all. I can feel the subtle movement of air very nicely.

My seat fans are also silent. I prefer the subtle air flow. I run the main a/c less when I have the seats on.

Re: Ventilated seats

Absolutely love mine. On a hot day you won't stick to the seats all the way home like you would without the ventilation turned on. I'm more sensitive to heat so YMMV

Re: Ventilated seats

Mine is nice and quiet, but the back is not very cold. Seat freezes my ass off though. I must try and find some way to get the seat to suck less and the back more. Not really into the ass sucking thing.

That's not conclusive. Blowing can cause that effect, which is why airplanes stay in the air.

A better test is to blow smoke at the seat and see if it is sucked inside or blown away. Somebody on this thread must be a smoker?

Re: Ventilated seats

Lol! Well, my seat's motor is not noisy at all. And, I just love the remote start feature. I leave the A/C and ventilated seats on, so when I use the remote start for the next trip, the Jeep is already cooling off when I get in. One awesome vehicle!

Now we're talking Bernoulli's Principle! The fluid (air in this case) has to flow horizontally along the streamline of an object for this to have an effect.

Trust me, the seats suck.

You are kidding right? BTW, I did the smoke thing, but this jeep does not suck nearly enough for that.
