very tempted to trade for Hemi

I have only had my Limited for 5 months, but with all the drivetrain noise issues I have had and the lackluster V-6 I think everyday I made a mistake not getting the hemi. This V-6 may be a good engine for a car but I think it is a poor fit for this vehicle. I had the tsb done yesterday for performance improvments and it did make it better, but now I get to listen to it rev. I think I would like to take the loss and get the Hemi, but I may wait just to make sure the shutter issue is resolved. In any case I don't think I will have this one more than a year.

lol, given the heart felt debate recently on the V6 versus V8 debate, are you sure you're not a current V8 owner having a little dig?

Good luck, whatever your decision, but I love my V6! The TSB just made it better.

+1

Love the V6 as well. Plenty of power, good fuel economy, newer technology.

And don't forget that the diesel isn't coming to the United States because we know that the HEMI is a much better choice. The Italian left overs will go to others.

Re: very tempted to trade for Hemi

My rule of thumb is this. The V6 is certainly adequate for this Jeep, it does a little better on fuel, costs slightly less, and burns regular fuel. In my opinion it lacks a lot in the fun factor but thats expected from a smaller less powerful motor. I test drove a V6 Overland and there was nothing fun about it, but for normal driving it worked. If you dont mind the added expense of the bigger motor, then by all means go for it!! If the above mentioned features of the V6 outweigh the benefits of having more power and all around fun factor then I would say stick with what you have.
Its all personal preference. I too was set on a Hemi from the second I started it. Driving it just sealed the deal, but when I see gas prices going up and up like they are people are going to really be second guessing the V8 (and the V6 for that matter).
What I would recommend is if you do consider trading for another Grand Cherokee atleast wait a little while and get a 2012. It will have some minor changes here and there as well as even more first year quirks worked out.

All of them are great cars either way!

x2. If your going to take a HUGE dump in loss of value, you mightiest well get the SRT. Don't really see the point of trading in a car just for a engine anyway.

Depends on whether we get more of the morons saying the V-6 is pointless.

It's personal preference. Because somebody prefers the V-8 does not mean that the V-6 is unsuitable. This is thus far the first time we've seen anybody who bought the V-6 experience buyer's remorse. But given as much whining as there's been lately, I can't say I'm surprised.
