Re: Vinyl wrap!!!

Planning to either dip or vinyl my roof also. Cleaning that roof is a pain and some gloss vinyl sure would make upkeep easier. No more claying and waxing/sealing. What pricing are you guys seeing?

Original quote for plasti dip was $175 for all of the trim including grill, front emblem, side moldings, window moldings, roof rails, and rear chrome trim piece.

Final price is $140 for everything!

Oh...you are having someone do the dip for you? I was thinking about price quotes for vinyl.

Yes I'm having a local dipyourcar.com installer do it for me. When you factor in materials and time I think 140 is more than fair

That's like $50 worth of plasti-dip. Just sayin.

Plus my time...estimate 4-5 hours for the job. That's a lot of trim he is going to cover with PD.

plus I get to hang with the family on Saturday .....not getting "the look" from my wife because I spend too much time with my jeep - priceless

Not even close. I prepped and sprayed my entire WK in less then that.

Re: Vinyl wrap!!!

Honestly, you could get that done in your drive way in 2 hours start to finish. I would go to HD/Lowes and buy 8 cans of PD (you will probably have extra) and a role of blue tape and you can have it done for less then $60.

Do what you are comfortable with. If you are more comfortable for letting someone do it for you then let them.

The reality is its not anything but time that I'm worried about. I have a tendency of taking on every project....this is one that I want done but rather spend the $$ to have it done.

With that said, now I want to try it myself just because it sounds like fun. Thanks guys for all the replies. Either way I go I'll have all my chrome trim done by Saturday. I'll post before/after pics
