I have a 2013 GC with the 3.6 and 5 speed trans. Most of the time it shifts real smooth but lately when decending a hill from a stop or moving slow in traffic I get a hard 3-4 thump on the upshift. It almost hangs onto third gear and shifts with a thump into fourth. It will sometimes do the same thing while coasting in traffic or when I need to lift off the throttle before the 3-4 shift happens. It feels like it doesn't know what gear to pick.
It is very noticeable and will even bump after it downshifts and returns to higher rpm after passing (downshifts to 2 or 3 to pass and bumps on upshift to 4th) on the highway. I also get noticeable lag in third gear sometimes where I almost have to mash the throttle to get any power at all followed by a hard three four shift if it stays in third.
I plan to call the dealer and have it scanned, I found one TSB that fits the 2013 and one from the 2011 I plan to share with them. I still have powertrain warranty. What should I have them check?
Software?
Solenoid?
Torque converter?
Mounts?
Fluid Quality and Level? (No dipstick)
Trans Filter?
Has anyone else experienced similar issues? It doesn't seem normal to me.
Thanks
