The dent wasn't there prior to me parking in that spot so I know for sure it was my neighbor backing out of his driveway (or a visitor like his son who I noticed happened to be visiting recently) which was directly accross from where my Jeep was parked. I had it parked there for only a couple of hours at most. I'm thinking it was his son who owns a Jeep Liberty which has the tire attached to the hatch with a cover....that might explain the high dent location on my door that seems to be pushed in and without a scratch in the dent itself....scratch only to the right of the dent. Of course nobody left a note....damn bastards!
That sucks!!! Big time! I'd think about confronting that kid next time he's visiting.

Re: Want to CRY with me?

This morning I went out to my car and found a foot long crack in the windshield! I must have taken a rock hit because there is a very small chip in the window, which seems to have started the crack. In 17.5 years with my old Grand Cherokee nothing like this ever happened, and my 2011 takes a hit in the first few months. Are windshields too thin and fragile these days?

Had my windshield replaced today ... ouch$. The dealer said that since the vehicle is so new there is only Mopar/OEM replacements. And it seems that low hits on the windshield are causing cracks, whereas higher up the windshield is faring better.

Go to the trade in section of Autotrader.com. On the first page they ask if your car has ever been damaged. Answer no and get your trade in value.

Go back to the site and answer yes and get your value.

This is obviously not scientific, but at least it will give you numbers to start from.
