water leaks on 2014?

I have seen lots of people complaining the water leaks problems on their GC prior to 2012 or 2011. Seems like the leak can be anywhere from passenger side floor (main one) to the liftgate. I am planning to buy the 2014 Overland in a month. But seeing the water leak problem kinda holds me off. So I want to know any 2014 GC (not limit to Overland) are having the problem? thanks

Re: water leaks on 2014?

It's not widespread. Mine has never leaked nor have those of my neighbors. I'd more concerned about the QL suspension. Get the vehicle and enjoy it.

Re: water leaks on 2014?

After a year and driving through torrential rainstorms on the interstate, being buried under several feet of snow, taking it through carwashes every few weeks, and running the air conditioner all last summer, I have not experienced any leaking whatsoever. I was leery buying a vehicle with a sunroof, having heard many horror stories about leaks. I've also read threads here about air conditioning drain leaks, and hatch leaks. Knock on wood, my '14 is as dry as a bone.

Re: water leaks on 2014?

The one's I've read about on here were mostly miss-routed drain tubes from the sun roof or air conditioning system. I have no leaks.

Hey jacko15, we all had a terrible winter, but yours was newsworthy, several times!

well, it sounds like the leaking problem has been solved on the 2014, which is good. but still want to hear from more people.

as for the QL, this is my other concern. i like it but it can be a nightmare once it fails

Re: water leaks on 2014?

There has been a lot of talk, not too much recently, about QL failures. I guess it was late '12 or very early '13, before I ordered, somebody set up a poll.

IIRC - the people who had QL problems had trouble getting them fixed right away. But the majority of those responding had no problems at all.

The sample size was probably too small to be scientifically accurate. It was enough for me to order my Overland, complete with QL. No regrets at all so far.
