Water or Liquid sloshing sound but no water anywhere

Ive read through the forums on the sloshing water but what if there is no water anywhere

I have a 2014 GC Laredo, 4X4 no sunroof.
I get a sloshing sound that sounds more like water traveling backwards when I take off from a dead stop, But it only does it once in awhile. Cant duplicate it after it does it. Have to wait till it decides to do it again, so far 3 -4 times in the 2 months of ownership. I have checked Battery box and storage under drivers seat which has a plastic liner no water at all, Ive checked under carpet in spare tire area no water at all, , checked behind back seat under carpet at raised lip/inclined wall of rear storage and no wetness at all and no wet carpet anywhere.
I thought it was the gas tank as others have said but wouldn't it do it more often and especially at least twice in a row. Mine did it again this morning and Immediately I tried to get it to do it again with no luck. In fact Ive spent the last couple hours trying everything to get it to make the water traveling sound, and looking for moisture with no luck. Are there some hiding places I havent thought of?
What to try next??

Re: Water or Liquid sloshing sound but no water anywhere

Been there done that. This might not be the case but my Lexus Landcruiser that I purchased in CA and moved to Ohio and then Florida had the same sound. Sloshing around driving me crazy. How can the gas tank do that it has a baffle? My So who is smarter than I will ever be said well isn't it coming from the rocker panels? I said no but there are drains there. We get a paper clip and push it through the rubber inspection grommet and water comes out. Yep the CA SUV seldom ever saw any water and when in Ohio the rains came and the drains from the sunroof go right into the rocker panels. The rocker panels have small slits just for this purpose and they were plugged with mud (dust that got wet).
It is either in the rocker panel and or the door which I am guessing is your rocker panel. Try the rocker panels first...
Hope this helps...

I have a similar issue with no water found when checked. Where does it sound like it is coming from on yours? (Front, back, etc...).

It sounded like it went from either under dash or engine comp. on driver side backwards as I accelerated from a stop light. Im listening every time I take off now to get a more accurate description. But like I said previously I have only heard it maybe 3 or 4 times in 2 months 2500 miles , but then again I wasnt listening for it and usually have the music playing.
As for the "Drain Plugs", I looked under and see lots of black rubber caps, which are the drain plugs. Does anyone have a picture? And wouldn't I see signs of moisture or standing water in the areas Ive checked in my previous post? Im hoping it does it again soon, Im really going to try and pinpoint it more accurately.

I did call my dealership SA who said he never heard of anything like that, and then another more distant dealership SA and he said it sounds like the climate control system built up condensation or air and hasn't burped yet, not to worry about it. Those were close to his exact words...I had to laugh, I doubt that ,, but what do I know, maybe he's right.

Actually it does sound like the HVAC on yours. Mine has done that intermittently and I've also had that water rushing sound behind the dash when first turning on the A/C at times. Usually if I look I see a bunch of water under the vehicle afterwards.

My sound is behind me when it does it.

Thats the standard answer never hear of that, first one ever, don't worry about it. Those are all the normal answers from a SA. Sounds like you have a clogged drain if its not a sunroof then its probably the AC drain.
