Yeah, I'd take a look after they do the work. I didn't check and realized a week later when I went to add washer fluid, they didn't bolt down the pump properly and didn't align the engine cover. it was just sitting on top the engine.

What a joke.

That's the exact reason I didn't want them to do the fix the first time when it was offered. Now I'm debating it again, because I rarely hear the noise, but don't want it to shite out on me when I'm out in the middle of nowhere.

I picked mine up after to find cigarette ashes on the dash and floor and smelled like crap. They offered a detail but I declined because I didn't want a half ass job.
It's also starting to smell like burning antifreeze again, it did this originally until the leak was enough to notice. Pathetic.

Re: Water pump already ?

It is starting to look like a few water pumps. To be fair about it. I'd like to hear from the people that have no issues chime in.
Does the bad water pump show back up every 25 K because there is a flaw in the designed part? A bad run from the supplier?
Is the V6 any better?

How did you notice the pump wasn't properly installed?
Just curious, so when I double check the work done by dealership, I know what to look at and check to make sure it is done right.

Good advice! I always check after I have work done at my dealership. They never tighten my K&N intake at the filter or the TB. I also noticed they lost the red clip on one of my injectors.

Re: Water pump already ?

Agree always check their work. when they did my brake booster recall they left the air intake uncoupled from the air box so it sucked unfiltered air for 5000 miles. I didn't notice this until I changed the air filter. sloppy careless idiots

The engine cover wasn't on and when I went to align it, I noticed I was able move the water pump. Looking closer, the big bolt that attaches was missing. Such lazy and unprofessional work.

Re: Water pump already ?

It's not just dealers either (as you probably know). I do a lot of work myself but took my tahoe in for new front brakes.. The when I did a lube job the next week, I found one of the two R front caliper bolts not on! So 1 bolt was holding my brake on the axle!

Trust if you must but verify!
