Re: Weak seat heaters/coolers?

My wife has an '11 BMW 328xi. The seats are hotter and with three settings. They aren't cooled or vented.

The BMW steering wheel doesn't get as hot as the Jeep but the heat is more even, while mine has cold spots at 10 and 2.

Re: Weak seat heaters/coolers?

I have an Overland as well and in the highest setting the seat does get warm. Other manufacturers do a better job in heat distribution (i.e. backside) or response time but overall I am satisfied.

The heated steering, well, rocks. I also notice the click. Most likely from a relay due to the high-current needed to drive the heating element.

Re: Weak seat heaters/coolers?

You guys must have no bacon on your bony, overly sensitive butts.

If the seat heater was any hotter, I would have to counter with the anti swamp-ass ventilated seat function.

Re: Weak seat heaters/coolers?

There has to be something wrong with it. The passenger side in previous Audi did the same thing while the driver side was nice and toasty.

Re: Weak seat heaters/coolers?

The ventilation function works well for me. It provides a gentle, but effective, amount of air movement.

The heaters are just okay. The heaters in my 535xi are worlds better, pretty much covering my entire seat bottom and seatback, but they're also worlds better than any other heated seats I've experienced.

Re: Weak seat heaters/coolers?

I agree with most others, as this is the one thing with my WK2 that I am rather dissapointed with. The heat/vent. is adequate at best. When compared with my MB or BMW, they are downright weak....but I guess you get what you pay for in this case. I do notice the heat can be warmer at times, I wonder if any of this depends on the cabin or OAT.

On a side note, the heated steering wheel is money! That thing gets hot! But if you hold it at the 3 and 9 position, mine seems to not have heat there.
