Well I sold my Jeep

MY14 JGC Limited picked it up April of 2013. This car was awesome! Completely issue free for the 16 months and 20,000 miles that I had it. Sorry to see it go but i could no longer resist the temptation to change to...

a new Summit!

Yeah I'm loving these Jeeps

Interesting and congrats!

I wouldn't have done that personally simply because I hate the 8 speed transmission (3.6l in my cases).
My next one will probably be an X3, GLK, Touareg or call even a Kia Santa Fe Sport :-)
Then there is that RDX, MDX, Pilot, too many options that will prevent me from getting another Jeep.

congrats! 2 questions...
1) is your summit '14 or '15? locally here i've seen zero '15 summits available yet.
2) how do you find the v6 with the 4x4 chassis - does the 4wd (extra weight, gear) make the v6 a bit 'wanting' for power in any way? i drove a 4x2 v6 summit and it seemed fine though.
again congrats!!!

why do you hate the 8 speed? i see there were some software glitches early on, but the one i drove recently seemed great.

The 3.6 has been riddled with transmission problems that Jeep simply cannot fix despite multiple TSB bulletins. Most of the problems arise after about 5,000 or so miles in the form of very hard shifts and shuddering between gear changes especially when rolling to a stop.

Re: Well I sold my Jeep

Congratulations on the upgrade
I have 7500 miles on my 14 JGC Laredo 4X4 V6 8 spd with absolutely no transmission issues at all.
Not one issue from day one. Smoothest transmission I've ever driven
Took delivery as soon as it hit the dealership in the middle of March had 4 miles of technician road testing.
