Maybe someone that works at a dealership or was a salesman can correct me if I'm wrong, but never use that as a sales argument to try and get a better deal.
Absolutely correct. I've had a number of friends who work in the business tell me that cash from a customer means nothing to the dealers. They would prefer any customer finance all or any part of the purchase through their financing arm, and for CDJR that is Chrysler Capital. The dealer gets his money regardless of how the customer pays, but they get more from finance charges passed down from corporate.
Like you said, your "deal" gets worse when you throw around that you are an all cash buyer because they are less willing to negotiate knowing they won't be making money on the back end.
