Anyone out there want to gang up on a dealer in the Pittsburgh area? Hopefully we could get at least 2% under invoice. So far I haven't been able to get a dealer around here to do any better than 1% under.

BUMP - Anyone out there that wants to gang up on a dealer in the Pittsburgh area? I have seen the DC group talking about 7% under invoice and that looks REAL good to me but we will need the same type of buyer numbers they are seeing to come close to that.

we could , I am not in a position to buy a new one now but for future Considerations or parts and service maybe?

#5 ·
What are your thoughts on parts/service? What incentive would we give them and what would we ask?

#6 ·
I dont know , The offroad club we belonged to would get 10% off but that wasnt worth the time . I would like to see the 25% or so to make it worth the while .

Also which dealers are you considering ? the few that are up there ( cranberry / wexford area ) I dont see them giving anything . we had one out here but they were bought out and the owner do not quite understand jeep culture yet .

I've exchanged emails with a few of them... NONE have budged so far from the 1% under invoice with an affiliate number. I test drove a 2014 Laredo Pentastar at the Cranberry dealership and they've been great but still won't budge.

In case we don't get anything done locally I did get my name on the list with the DC group buy... they have negotiated an incredible deal.

yeah , Its hard to get them move around here . I will probably never buy a new car again . I dont like taken the hit you take when you drive it off the lot. I would rather buy one a few years old.

I dont have much faith in dealers ,lol.

I have a dealer in Cranberry Township @ 2% under invoice right now, that is however with use of my affiliate rewards pricing. I'd like to see about going lower, and I think i could go lower with additional people to buy cars from them. I just bought a 2013 300S from them in November, so that may help as well. Let me know your thoughts....

They seem like good guys there... I should give Steve a call and see what he says about 6 or 7 percent under invoice.

I have an Overland ordered at Mick's, and live in Cranberry. Current price is 1% below invoice, with a small non-refundable deposit. If we got a significantly better deal, I would consider placing an order with another dealer. Mick's wasn't interested in going below 1%.

I will stop by Cranberry CDJ tomorrow and talk with them, as I have a decent relationship with them. Explain the situation and tell them, look you can get 3 guaranteed sales, all to the same salesman (Steve Kuhn) as long as you WORK with us. I'm shooing for 5% below invoice. Interesting, that there is 3 Cranberry Twp guys, ha! Please let me know your thoughts as soon as possible.

At a minimum you should consider looking at the DC group buy thread before you sign that deal. The DC deal, though there was some recent minor confusion, is 7% below invoice plus $499 dealer fee. That would save you a couple thousand...

I will try and get ahold of the Cranberry dealer tomorrow and see what they might be able to do.

Hello there, does this mean you are in? If so, then that would be 4 people total to the same dealer. I would have to imagine they could do something. Depending on their feedback, I will have them become a site vendor / paid vendor, etc, so that they can advertise the deal, if any that is.

There's about a $900 difference between 7% and 5% off invoice on a $45000 purchase. I would target 6% and dealers fees no higher than $250. That makes up $700 of the difference between the DC deal and leaves us at a +$200 over that deal. Which is a reasonable cost to travel to DC to pick up the truck.

How's that sound?

Okay guys, I sent an email to Steve at Cranberry CDJ just now, and I'm sure I'll get a response today. I'd like to get them as a paid vendor on the site, that way they can publicize the deal and we can get more people to him, etc, and potentially realize a better value for us.

Can you provide a quick update on the status of your deal?

FYI, have located a reasonable deal at

http://www.jeepgarage.org/f218/offi...-thread-info-faqs-official-details-55833.html

Delearship is about 20 minutes from Chicago Midway Airport so its not terribly difficult to get to if you live near a major airport, but would be a little drive home after picking up the new 2014. PM'ed for detailed out the door price breakdown on vehicle I am interested in - found the calculation to be straight forward and pretty much what is described at the link above. No trade to complicate things however.

Do you have something bettter worked out, or maybe you are on the verge of doing so?

Best deal so far is a dealer in the DC area that is invoice - 7% plus $499 dealer fees... Chicago might be a little closer for you so the drive home has to be considered.

Haven't heard about anything local to me that beats the above yet. It beats the deal you are looking at by 3% which is around $1500 on a $50k vehicle. I don't see dealer fees called out so if they aren't charging any extra fees then your savings is reduced to around $1000 on a $50k vehicle.

I have had no response yet regarding the Group Buy, and to be honest they dont seem to excited to talk about it. I am going to place a call to them now.

I'm probably going with the DC group buy, you cant beat that deal at all! I may end up with a Summit now!

So I'll try to revive this dead topic. I did get 3% below invoice from Cranberry Jeep, Steve was a pleasure to work with. I feel it was a fair deal! Please let me know if you have specific questions. I'm about to go pick it up!!!!!! 2014 Overland V8 in White!

#27 ·
Nice! Grats! Picked up my 14 Overland from Mick's on Thursday. 1% under invoice. No hassle's with dealer...smooth transaction. Loving it.

#28 ·
Can't even order my CRD yet... But I'm going for the 7% under invoice in the DC deal.

#30 ·
yes, please do give him a call, or fire your questions towards me. they gave me the 3% below invoice in hopes of being able to attract 5 additional buyers from the site including myself. So I'm quite confident they would extend this offer to you as well.
