Re: What all do I need to add factory hitch?

Okay I just looked at the installation instructions for the hitch receiver kit what you get is the bezel and the receiver bar for over $200

Then since you don't need the harness you would need the 7 way connector 5695532AC.

The installation involves cutting a hole in your existing lower rear valance

So this labor and skill based work

Ask them how much hours of labor and the rate. As it stands your quote is half parts and half labor

Re: What all do I need to add factory hitch?

Labor is $125, hitch is $241, 7/4 pin connector is $48ish. Ends up being $415. I think it's funny how the labor rate didn't get cheaper even tho the first quote involved installing a wire harness and now they don't have to but labor price stayed the same but this dealer is a lot cheaper than the other 3 I got quotes from

Re: What all do I need to add factory hitch?

$400ish is a good price for OEM parts and dealer installation. Keep in mind that even if you do it yourself, you will have to visit the dealer to have them flash your GC so the OEM plug works properly (my dealer charges 1 hour of shop time to do the flash = approximately $90). The installation requires removal/modification & reinstallation of the rear bumper cover. The hitch replaces the rear cross-brace. So make sure to ask your dealer for that back if you want it for future use (like removing the hitch at resale if you have a lease, etc). Also, having a Jeep dealer do the work adds the hitch and wiring to your GC warranty coverage. Best luck.

Re: What all do I need to add factory hitch?

Just curious, someone mentioned cutting, so are you saying that your estimate doesn't include the rear bottom part of the bumper that would make it look like a factory job? It will look like it was cut.

The hitch comes with a trim piece to cover the cut area and make it look just like factory installed ones..

I'm happy with that price. I expected over 500 so or the cost of a flash and my own labor I am just having them do it. Just makes sense. If they F something up its on them not me like if I F something up lol...

Re: What all do I need to add factory hitch?

For my hitch installed yesterday. 415 plus tax. Looks good. I'm happy with that price. Took them 3 F'n hours though jeez.. On my limited I needed the hitch $241+7/4 pin connector $48.95+ $125 labor... Only problem with the install was they didn't put my mudflap screws in fully.. Guess that was too hard to do so I tightened them properly when I got home. I installed the flaps myself better than the dealer could reinstall them lol.. Not surprising

That sounds about right if yours doesn't have a harness already.. The dealers were quoting me an extra hundred before they realized my limited had a harness back to the bumper already..
