I like my '12 WK2 Laredo. I like the comfort, power of the V6, and handling, but am thinking of getting rid of it once my warranty is up. I have had mine to the dealership 8 times for warranty work in the first year. The long term reliability has me concerned. So I guess the good is that service techs are getting practice repairing issues.

Re: What are some positive things about the WK2?

nice thread revival

The thing I like most about mine is that I just traded it in.

Seriously,

The traction in all conditions is worth the cost of admission with this vehicle. It does seem to find traction when there is none available.

Re: What are some positive things about the WK2?

I had to chime in on this thread. After 15k miles I still feel that this is the best SUV I've ever owned, and I have had lots of them. If I had to list everything I like about the GC you would all get bored because the list is very long.

Re: What are some positive things about the WK2?

Every single car made has issues... Pick one of the most expensive vehicle out there... Rolls Royce, Bentley, Maybach...

Go look behind the sales building they are sold out of... They all have a service department.. Why? Because cars are designed to fail! Manufactures are not stupid, they don't intentionally cause a car to have issues.. but its bound to happen.. and every wearable part from tires to brakes to crank bearings are going to fail from continuous of everyday driving...

Google any vehicle made. i.e 08 Nissan maxima issues... I guarantee you will find a laundry list of problems with ANY car out there....

I agree no vehicle is perfect but to have a vehicle in for warranty work 8 times in under a year is a little absurd.

I agree no vehicle is perfect but after one has been here for a few years they come close.

Have had a lot of tow cars/people movers but this is the nicest and certainly the biggest I've owned.

Re: What are some positive things about the WK2?

I am 67 y/o. My 2013 JGC ltd. drives me crazy. I love driving it, can't wait to take my next road trip with my wife. I have had many new and used cars in my time, but this jeep is right up there with some of the best I have enjoyed. Mustangs, pontiac Grand Prix HP, etc. etc.but my jeep? Its great !! I'm not an off roader, but like to camp and this vehicle handles dirt and gravel roads up and down the hills. Yet on the Hwy. its like a luxary vehicle. I detail it 2-3 times a week. My friends call me a freak cause I'm so fussy with it. I have had it for 10 months now and probably have had 20-25 people come up to my in parking lots or just about anywhere and tell me what a beautiful Jeep I have. It is impeccable at all times, but that doesn't mean I wont drive a dirt road and have fun with it. OK...I'LL just shut up for now for I can talk about it forever.

Have to correct that. It is barely taller than the TranSport it replaced but I can open the tailgate with the garage door down but just put the Judge in the front garage where the Heep usually sits (show tomorrow) and is barely an inch clearance front and rear so it is shorter than a 1970 GM "midsize".

We save all the junk mail that has any sensitive info until we get a load of it, when we take itvto a "shredding"place.I can load a few hundred pounds of paper in the back of the GC, and it drives exactly the same as when it's empty. No change in handling...no loss of power...it's awesome. Like a truck with a very very nice bed!
