So I hear quite a few things going wrong with the new Grand Cherokee's (and I'm sorry for those of you that have/are having issues), but I'd like to hear some positive things. My Jeep is finally on it's way, so I'd like to hear some things about the Jeep to look forward to!

I'll definitely second that!

Also, the interior is fantastic. It's one of the major reasons I could move from my Audi to the Jeep. I feel like I did not give up anything... and even the 430 radio in my opinion is better than the audi (the interface... sadly not the sound quality).

I am also pleasantly surprised with the Jeep's steering. I thought I would notice some short comings comparing the Jeep steering to the Audi. I have to say the Jeep is pretty good. Given it is an SUV with more weight and larger tires..... but I have zero issues with it.

I am also becoming a fan of the new Pentastar engine. Going in next week to get the latest TSB for tranny driveability so that should make it even better.
Plus, once SuperChips comes out with a programmer that thing is really going to rock!!

Ditto, and with no quality issues after nearly 4 months on the road.

I've had no issues with mine. I will tell you this…it’s a point and shoot machine. You probably won't want to try this but I've done it (more than once). If you are a stopped at stop sign and getting ready to make a right turn. While turning your wheels to the right punch the throttle all the way to the floor….it will maintain your lane (like it’s on rails) while all 4 wheels are trying to regain traction it will go right where you steer it very, very quickly. Be forewarned if you are in “Sport mode” and try this be prepared for counter steer because the rear end is coming around like a two wheel drive sports car would. My write up doesn't do it justice. The way I treat mine....It probably should have problems but it doesn’t (I’m in the military and we are hard on equipment always taking it to the max with little or no maintenance). The JGC is an awesome driving machine that will go anywhere no matter what the road/off road conditions. I will say the only thing I had done to it was the TSB for enhanced ESC. It took less time to update the computer than it did for me to get a cup of coffee and drink it and I drink a lot of coffee. It made a world of difference…if yours was built after 30 December then it already has the update. I guarantee you will enjoy yours and it is more than worth the wait time to get it.

IMHO the styling is just excellent. They really outdid themselves in this respect. The exterior and interior really competes with high end vehicles I looked at. None enticed me like the Jeep did.

also liked how the rear seats have way more legroom room and are very very comfortable for rear occupants.

The 20" painted wheels on the non-Summit Overland edition are a double win for me:

1. They are so easy on the eye. That color and finish capture the light in a way that makes them look like they are flowing even when still. And the way that they photograph is a real treat, too.

2. They are really easy to clean!! I have not had any issue with brake dust or other gunk baking its way into the finish like it seems to with some of the other alloy wheels I've had. These actually feel good under your washmitt as you suds them up. Lots of smooth surfaces and no nooks and crannies that require you to throw out your back while cleaning them. I always start my washes by hitting the wheels, so this is the first thing I'm grateful for every time she gets a cleaning.

I have never had painted wheels before but I'm loving the way Jeep executed on this feature. Hopefully the polished wheelset on the Summit will make you equally happy.

Also enjoy the beefy wood and leather-wrapped steering wheel on the Summit. Definitely sends off a top shelf vibe when you approach the vehicle as well.

85% of the Land Rover "experience", at half the cost.
Great looking vehicle, despite the somewhat desultory use of chrome über-bling.
Saddle/Black Summit interior (mine!) very classy, as long as the glue holds everything in place.
About as all-American as we can hope for these days.
Might actually go off-road WTSHTF.
So good-looking, it might actually help me "get some"... just don't tell the Wife! :D

As I have been polishing the Summit since it's arrival home (3 coats of Zaino so far!), I have come to really appreciate the clean lines of this re-design of the GC line. The last GC that we had was the WJ (2000), and this is a much cleaner exterior design - very well thought out.
I really appreciate the lower black trim all the way around (I was not sure initially that I liked it), but it gives a 'finished' look to the body panels, similar to an edge trim (plus, on the rear doors it acts as a door guard ).
The fact that they re-designed the rear entry so that you no longer crack your hip while trying to get in is great!! - literally the first thing we checked

The interior is flat out stunning, with gorgeous Saddle leather everywhere, and nicely though out interior details - Truly a luxurious interior.
Also love the Pano roof!

When I walk into the garage and have to decide which one to drive:arms:
When I have to decide which one to mod with what first

The Hemi x 2

The interior of them both

When people say, "You bought 2, what did you do that for." 1) because I could 2) because I love them 3) It's a Jeep thing you wouldn't understand?"

Bought them both in October and still haven't got used to them yet. LOVE THEM!

:D

Quadra-Lift and heated front AND REAR seats were the 2 biggest selling points for me, and they lived up to their promises. Adaptive Cruise Control is awesome, and the rear cross path detection has saved me from an accident twice now while backing out of parking spaces with limited visibility on the sides.

great long distance cruiser! I averaged 20mpg over 2000 miles on my road trip with the HEMI and could EASILY go 500 miles on a tank of gas. seats were comfortable, cabin was quiet, and passengers had plenty of room. Lots of cup holders and power outlets for everyone's toys. The pano sunroof is awesome and I love the way it looks. To top it off, it's still a Jeep when it comes to venturing off the pavement!

Great lines and "stance" at every angle and looks flowing even when parked. Perfect long-distance cruiser with terrific performance and economy for an SUV that can haul 3-1/2 tons. Comfortable and QUIET interior, an equal or better than the various Mercedes, Audi and BMWs I've owned over the years and a world better than what I owned from GM and Ford.

WK2 Ltd Hemi: ~ $40,000
Fuel fill-up: ~$100
The grin when passengers comment "Wow this is a JEEP?": priceless

After seeing today's Black Summit in person, I've gotta start with "Drop Dead Gorgeous". I just love how all the WK2s look from the front, esp. the Summits.

Then, of course, as chibianh say's, it's still a Jeep. It really does go off-road, unlike so many grocery hauler SUVs.

Heated seats are nice of course, but here in "hot" country I'm going to be curious to see how the ventilated seats work out. I'll be sure to report to the forum when it's 110 out (just a matter of time here.)

I'm sure I'll have more to add once I finally have mine.

I initially thought the ventilated seats would only prove their worth in hotter temps, but they are great on long road trips too. Once you hit that 3-4 hour mark you can get some blessed relief.

You've made the right decision ordering one.

When the time comes to replace this vehicle, it will be another Grand Cherokee. This is after four consecutive GMC SUVs which I liked. I love my Jeep.

I have nothing bad to say about the WK2. I love the look, ride, value, capabilities, the powerful V6, and the interior. The Grand Cherokee has always been my favorite SUV and the WK2 is no different. I would recomend the Grand Cherokee to anyone!

I like my '12 WK2 Laredo. I like the comfort, power of the V6, and handling, but am thinking of getting rid of it once my warranty is up. I have had mine to the dealership 8 times for warranty work in the first year. The long term reliability has me concerned. So I guess the good is that service techs are getting practice repairing issues.

I had to chime in on this thread. After 15k miles I still feel that this is the best SUV I've ever owned, and I have had lots of them. If I had to list everything I like about the GC you would all get bored because the list is very long. :)

Every single car made has issues... Pick one of the most expensive vehicle out there... Rolls Royce, Bentley, Maybach...

Go look behind the sales building they are sold out of... They all have a service department.. Why? Because cars are designed to fail! Manufactures are not stupid, they don't intentionally cause a car to have issues.. but its bound to happen.. and every wearable part from tires to brakes to crank bearings are going to fail from continuous of everyday driving...

Google any vehicle made. i.e 08 Nissan maxima issues... I guarantee you will find a laundry list of problems with ANY car out there....

Have had a lot of tow cars/people movers but this is the nicest and certainly the biggest I've owned.
Have to correct that. It is barely taller than the TranSport it replaced but I can open the tailgate with the garage door down but just put the Judge in the front garage where the Heep usually sits (show tomorrow) and is barely an inch clearance front and rear so it is shorter than a 1970 GM "midsize".

I am 67 y/o. My 2013 JGC ltd. drives me crazy. I love driving it, can't wait to take my next road trip with my wife. I have had many new and used cars in my time, but this jeep is right up there with some of the best I have enjoyed. Mustangs, pontiac Grand Prix HP, etc. etc.but my jeep? Its great !! I'm not an off roader, but like to camp and this vehicle handles dirt and gravel roads up and down the hills. Yet on the Hwy. its like a luxary vehicle. I detail it 2-3 times a week. My friends call me a freak cause I'm so fussy with it. I have had it for 10 months now and probably have had 20-25 people come up to my in parking lots or just about anywhere and tell me what a beautiful Jeep I have. It is impeccable at all times, but that doesn't mean I wont drive a dirt road and have fun with it. OK...I'LL just shut up for now for I can talk about it forever.:)
